Please help I'm not to sure how to even use this website but I need some kind of help. My Lucky has been a huge park of my life for several years. A few days ago he hurt his back legs and the vet gave me some kind of steroids to hopefully get him back on his feet. Since he got hurt 4 days ago he has not took a pooh in 4 days. He looks bloated. I help him urinate and help him up myself he feels very comfortable for my help. Although when it comes to taking a pooh. He won't seem to go. I'm not sure how to go about this considering he is having trouble keeping his back legs up from the pain, so squating is not an easy thing for him. I do hold him up and he sniffs around like usual and I walk with him but he does not go. Can anyone give me some advice in what to do to make him go #2 |
There is a discussion of this very topic here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...four-days.html But whatever you decide to do, you should ask your vet if it is safe, first. |
Vet for that baby if he hasn't gone by now. |
Inactivity can cause constipation, which would be a normal thing....so can a twisted bowel or if there is a problem with blood flow to the lower bowels, which is NOT normal.....I would be concerned about those back legs not working right...you did not say what the diagnosis was....did he injure his spine? his hips? muscle damage/trauma? nerve issues? Pain meds can also affect bowel activity....there are so many thing that can be causing the problem.....I would be going back to the vet for some answers if you dont already have them. |
The week end is coming up, if your pup has not pooped today which would be day 5, I would get him to the vet today. Sat. vets are usually very busy with clients that cannot make week day visits. |
