| ![]() This morning Ellie kept licking her leg and then I saw blood on her leg, she was acting skittish with her tail between her legs. I put her in the tub and gently rinsed her leg and she seems to have called down. I can't see any injury, what could it be? Should I take her to the emergency vet??? Thanks! |

| ![]() Did you check to make sure none of her toenails are broken? If not, and she continues to lick, I would definitely take her to the vet. This can be a sign of pain. Good luck. |

| ![]() Her toenails are fine I checked her all over, she seems ok now since I rinsed her off. She's still licking it occasionally but not manic like she did earlier. Thanks |

| ![]() I would see the vet. Lolita used to get yeast infections in her paws and would do this.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Where on her leg is she licking...further up, or at the paw itself? Front or back? It could be so many things...it could also be allergies as that's what dogs do (lick paws/legs) when they have allergies.

| ![]() She was licking up towards the top of her leg, there was no open wound though?? I'm thinking (and hoping) she cut her tongue on her bully stick and that's where the blood was coming from. |

| ![]() Oh I misunderstood when you said this I was thinking paw. Lolita would lick her toes. Our vet said she thought she got these infections because she had spent so much of her life caged. Her little paw pads were horribly spread apart when she came to live with us. Hoping you are right and the blood is nothing to worry about.
