One more thing...the surgery is not a major surgery. Buster was home the same day. He was there for most of the day but they usually keep them until they wake up. He's only on restriction for two weeks. My surgeon encourages walking, going out on a leash, etc. The only medication they gave me was Metacam, no pain drugs. He's actully doing much better than I anticipated. If only his hair would grow back in.... |

1 Attachment(s) Attachment 398891 You can see how much Buster was shaved...hopefully Bella won't be shaved that much. |

All of the hardware was in the knee area. They shaved that much for his surgery in September when he had the bone graft and the implants put in. It's a long story with Buster...if you count the removal of the implants for the CCL and the removal of the implants that was recently done, the little guy has had seven surgeries on the left leg..:(... |

Brief update... Bella's surgery to remove the pin from her knee has been pushed back to Thursday, rather than tomorrow. More updates then (unless they reschedule again :(). Bella continues to be her happy, frisky self, blissfully unaware that she will be going under the knife again in three days . |
Bella is at the surgeon's this morning getting the pin removed from her leg. Several other Yorkietalk babies are going through the same thing, so please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers! |
Prayers for Bella...I am sure all will be just fine! :) I know you will be glad to get her back home! :) |
Good thoughts for Bella today and all the little Yorkie Talk babies going through the same thing. Best wishes to all for a speedy recovery. |
The surgeon just called, and everything went well. Bella is awake and groggy, and I can pick her up and take her home at 1 PM :). |
Yea! Bless her little heart for going through this again. I'm sure you will be giving her extra love today. |
Yay! After she gets over the affects of the surgery, I bet you'll see that she is walking much better. |
That's great! She will probably be back to her usual self by tonight or tomorrow morning. I think she will probably walk much better with the pins out. I noticed an instant improvement in Buster. |

So happy for Mrs. Bella. She will be running and bouncing in no time. |
So happy to hear that all went well. I am sure Bella will be back to her normal self in no time! :) |
Bella is home now, and wanting to run around like her usual self. I've blocked off the stairs so she can't follow me up. She is walking on her leg, but lifts it to run and to potty--I'm sure that will improve with time. She had laser surgery, and the charge was $126. Her stitches come out in two weeks, and I'm to put a collar on her if she licks or bites at her stitches, but so far she is ignoring her stitches, and you would never know she even had surgery this morning. I think I'm suffering more than she is, LOL! They also shaved very little off her legs, so she still looks well-groomed. More updates later! |
Happy to hear all is well. Now relax :) |

Just a quick update. It's been three months since surgery, and Bella has recovered fully from her MPL surgery and subsequent pin removal. She now uses her operated leg all of the time. I still exercise caution with her, and don't take quite such strenuous walks with her as I used to, since she has mild luxating patella in her other leg, but so far, so good. |
Great to hear she is doing well. |
