Im not sure how long it takes for the blood pressure medicine to work but so far no change in her depression. Hopefully, in a couple of days she will feel better. She goes to the Internal medicine specialist on 2/4. I hope to get a more definite diagnosis. Thanks for the prayers. |
Patti, have you told your vet about this? I would give her a call just to be on the safe side....see what she thinks. I would hate for this to be something else going on...it is the weekend. |
I moved up Pixie's visit with the specialist to today due to predicted winter storm tomorrow. After 4 days on the enalapril she was acting much more herself. Pixie had the exam, ultrasound, blood work and urine protein:creatine ratio done. The ultrasound showed her kidneys were normal looking. No evidence of stones or tumors. All other organs looked normal as well. Her blood pressure was down to 125 from 240 2 weeks ago. She has been an the Enalapril for 2 weeks and it appears to be working well. Her BUN went down to 17 from 26 as well. I will get the urine results tomorrow. Pixie will stay on the Enalapril and start 1 mg of aspirin daily as well as 100 mg Fish Oil daily. These will be compounded at the pharmacy due to her size. Based on the result of the urine test they will determine when she needs a follow up visit. Most likely in 3 months. The specialist was very optimistic that Pixie can be managed for a long time with the PLN. Thanks for keeping her in your prayers. __________________ |
