Thanks for the warning. I am going to read your threads to get a better handle on this. I thought my vet said that she didn't have PLE but the opposite. I picked up her recent blood work and urinalysis results when I got her medicine. Her urine protein-creatinine ratio was done by IDEXX and was 1.1.
I am going to read up and write down my questions for the Internal Medicine vet. She is the same one that treated Maya for Cushing's and Cali for her MVD. She is really good.
I just want Pixie to feel better. She looks so depressed. | No, not PLE, but PLN. PLE is from the gastro intestinal tract. PLN is kidneys. Both are protein losing conditions but different.
The Enalapril will keep her B/P down and also should help with the protein loss. I am sure they will also start her on a small dose of aspirin to prevent clots. The UPC should be under 0.5 so 1.1 is elevated. Olivia's has been higher and her meds were increased and it came down.
Oh, and I am sure her mood will change when her B/P comes down and she is feeling better. Her B/P was very high and I am sure that made her feel uncomfortable.
There is good information on the internet .. I just wanted to warn you about the prognosis part because it really scared me. I had poor Olivia dead way before her time! She is doing really well now. |
