Kandi, new YHR pup is having emergency ortho surgery....

Just unbelievable that YHR has another fractured leg this week. This one is in LA and the stupid owner did not want her back. She lost her once and she took her back...THEN she let her run again and she was apparently hit by a car. Not sure how long the time period was; but bottom line it has been a while and now they have to do a bone graft in addition to the standard plate and screws. Another xray that makes you cringe...I just don't understand people at all.

Desiree could definitely use some prayers:

I don't understand people either. How can anyone look at a sweet face like that and not want to take proper care of her?

I know...it's just crazy. They lost her once...got her back and then let this happen to her? And, now you don't want her? OMG people are horrible .. this had to be preventable. I believe in accidents....and don't want to ever think it could not happen to one of mine...but you would think after losing a pup once, you might want to invest in a ball and chain set? Being silly of course. But gates at the doors? something!! sheesh

So glad Kandi has been able to sleep and rest. Sounds like Cookie is helping with the care.

On a different note.. prayers for Desiree's surgery on Monday. Honestly, sometimes I get so disgusted with the human race.

Happy Kandi is on the mend. Her sweet face reminded me of my Tiki and stole my heart immediately. I love seeing her comfortable as a stroller princess.

Desiree's story is very disturbing too. It is unbelievable that people can abandon their pup like that, and just discard them like a broken toy.

People that treat pups as disposable should be barred from ever having another one.

Yes, I do believe Kandi has been bred Jenny. We simply don't know her history and it is probably just as well. Just the shape of her pelvis and leg told me she was in the hands of very unkind people. If a person cannot properly vet a pup, they should let someone else do it. She will probably have some issues for the rest of her life...maybe not as bad as before she had her leg repaired; but still that pelvis is a mess. Makes me sick. I don't understand people and their priorities.

Desi is having surgery tomorrow...so please pray it goes well.

Kandi is one of the easiest surgical patients I have ever had! She is so laid back and actually is happy in a crate or the stroller. I managed to cut her hair some tonight...it is not perfect, but I think she looks better. She looks a bit loopy...she is still on the Tramadol. Cannot wait for the sutures to be removed next week so I can bathe her.

She looks great Linda and love her pictures! I'm so glad she is out of pain and on the road to recovery.

On a different note, I did not know you had added groomer to your list of careers. There is some talent there.

hahah Lisa! I have to say it is not so bad...that running to the groomer and vet daily it seemed was getting old AND I am saving a ton of money!

Waiting on a Desi update but I do know that no news is good news. I received a call yesterday afternoon just as she was going into surgery.

I'm thankful for folks like you & your group. Kandi reminds me of our Bella. Glad she's on the mend & I hope you get good news on Desiree very soon (I know waiting is excruciating!).
