Tiny Tim has bladder stones My sweet little foster boy, Tiny Tim (I call him Timmy) has a large bladder stone. He had one when he came to me back in May and has been on a RX diet since that time. He has calcium oxylate which the vet said are difficult to stop from forming. So depressing. He had a horrible night, waking up screaming, but nothing I could see that warranted a trip to the EC. I had a feeling it was either a stone or his back because he was hunched over but his bladder was not distended. Went to the vet first thing this morning and sure enough...a stone. She also saw what looks like a gall stone on the xray. I have a number to call if he gets obstructed....but nothing will be done until after Christmas since it is not considered an emergency unless there is an obstruction. He is on Metacam and also has Bupranex if needed. He seems ok this evening. |
How terrible. Poor little guy. Will be praying that he can be kept comfortable until this can be treated. If this is comparable to stones that people have, I can't imagine the pain he's in. |
Praying for Tiny Tim... |
Keeping Timmy in my thoughts. So sorry that he is not feeling well. |
Oh no. Poor Timmy. I hope he is feeling better. |
Poor little guy I will keep him in my prayers. |
Poor Timmy...sounds painful :( I'll keep you both in my thoughts |
Oh No. I am so sorry that Tiny Tim is having problems again. I will certainly say prayers for him. |
Prayers and best wishes for Tiny Tim. |
Poor little guy... he is in my thoughts and prayers. |
Oh my gosh, this breaks my heart to think of him screaming in pain :(. So hope those pain meds are kicking in big time. Give him a hug from me and a puppy kiss! How is he doing today? |
Poor baby. I hope his Christmas is pain free . I'm glad he has you during this time. Well wishes! |
Timmy had a great night! He also is doing well today...she put him on Metacam and it seems to be doing the trick. I gave him Bupranex last night just to be sure he was comfortable. I am just so sad that he needs surgery yet again. :( |
Poor Timmy Tim. Hope he feels ok pending his surgery. I checked my list and sweet potatoes are high oxalate. :( |

I feel sick about it all. The vet did say that these stones are the worst for recurrence...but I have never had this happen before. I gave him tiny pieces of sweet potatoes as treats..and now thinking maybe they caused it. He is doing fine. Surgery is scheduled for Jan 8. I hate waiting but the schedule is full and this is not considered an emergency. They said it is highly unlikely it will lodge in the urethra because it is on the larger side. So, Timmy can use your prayers. |
Poor boy. Praying for Timmy. |
I will be thinking about Timmy... Poor guy. |
Poor Timmy....somehow snagged a toenail on his left rear foot. Took him to the vet late this afternoon and he was anesthetized and the nail removed, cauterized and wrapped. She gave him a pain med injection so he is in la la land. He is now on Clindamycin. |
Oh, poor Timmy! little dude is having such a hard time. So sorry, hope he gets some rest and the 8th gets here quickly. |
Oh no! Poor little guy can't catch a break (except in his Momma) |
Poor Timmy, hope he'll be ok...I've had my share of ouchy nails, blood all over the place, almost fainted but didn't so I can rush them to the vet, not fun! |
Timmy had a difficult night but woke up this morning all bright eyed and bushy tailed. :) |
They're such amazing creatures! I think we get more worried & feel guilty bc they got hurt, well I know I did! |
How is he doing with the removed toenail? I hope the pain is minimal. Also, just curious, do you think the toenail grow back? (One reason I am asking is Vivi did that to her dewclaw and a little piece appears to be growing back now.) Anyway, hope he has another wonderful morning! |
Poor Timmy, he just can't catch a break. As for the calcium oxalate stones, my son can speak to that pain. Make sure he drinks enough water. |
