| I think Mojo scratched his eye! All of a sudden, his right eye is bloodshot and it looks almost like there is a scrape or slight tiny indent on the colored part of his eye. I called the ER vet and they won't tell me anything over the phone. He just made himself a little nest in my comforter & has gone to sleep, so obviously Mojo isn't that concerned with it. Is it ok to wait until my vet opens in the morning? What should I do? I've never dealt with an eye injury before!

| I seriously love my vet! He completely reassured me. Mojo is resting comfortably & will be seeing the vet tomorrow.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I'm glad you got a hold of your vet. I am glad you are getting him first thing tomorrow. Eye injuries can be very painful. I hope Mojo is ok.

| OMG, I was so panicked! I'm still very worried but my vet made me feel SO much better. As the vet pointed out, everything is at eye level for a yorkie. He likes to run around in the landscaping, so my best guess is maybe he ran into something while zooming through the underbrush. He's never unsupervised so that's all I can come up with for an explanation. I'll be sure to post an update tomorrow!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Yes please update. I had a yorkie that had ulcerated his cornea trying to dig under a cyclone fence at my parents. Luckily with treatment his eye healed completely. They sure know how to make us worry!

| If you have a cone, I would put it on him. I know it isn't comfortable for sleeping, but his eye will probably be very painful when he wakes up -- and he may be tempted to scratch or rub, which will make things worse. Max has been through this. Praying for Mojo for a speedy and full recovery.

| Well the vet confirmed my suspicions. He feels Mojo likely ran into a stick or something when he was zooming around outside. He put dye in Mojo's eye & you could see he has a very deep scratch. Mojo seems to be doing remarkably well and isn't messing with it. We've got to apply an antibiotic ointment twice a day & go for a recheck in 10 days.

| Glad to hear Mojo isn't bothered by his eye scratch and that he has meds. Wishing him a speedy recovery. One thing that I found helped Max heal quickly was to keep him in cool air. No going outside in heat and humidity, which aggravated his eye and once made the third eyelid pop out. I took him out early morning and very late evening.
