You're not daft... dogs KNOW, they can sense good people. It is a little odd for one so young though...

Sammy knows you are an angel to these babies. Dogs have a strong understanding of who love and protect them.

I guess if I believe in reincarnation...I might think it was him. It was weird..in the one pic Steph too of her, I saw him.

I cannot find that pic right now of Sammy, but here is one at the same angle...I swear they have the same face. Of course so many look alike..it was just the way it hit me today and, like I said, the similarities although he lived a lot longer.

Oh my Linda, this is just so very sad. I'm so very sorry for the loss of Mindy. She knows how very hard you were trying to help her. I know she is at peace and running and playing at the Rainbow Bridge. RIP Sweet Baby Girl!!!

just read this post and my heart breaks for you LadyJane...I think these little ones are sent to those whom they need most. She needed you to be with her at the end as hard as I am sure it was for you... take comfort in knowing she went with love all around her and at peace. Bless you for all you do...and prayers that you find comfort in knowing that she now runs pain free and with all of those special friends that went on before her to show her the way.

Linda, I am very sorry to hear that you had to let little Mindy go to the Rainbow Bridge. Your post is very moving, how you told her about Sammy, Gabby and Sunny D and the others who would be there to greet her.

Thank you for being there for Mindy and for making sure her suffering was not prolonged, and that her journey was peaceful.

It isn't selfish to question why you do this heartbreaking work. You wouldn't be a deeply caring person if you didn't question it.

Praying for your comfort.

Linda, I am so sorry about little Mindy. At least she had the best chance at life with you. You did everything possible for her and you didn't let her suffer. She really didn't have a chance. I'm glad the owner turned her over to you and I hope her little boy is healthy. Bless you Linda, you are an angel to so many little ones. Your heart is as big as the universe.

Linda - I am so sorry for the loss of sweet Mindy. Your post brought tears to my eyes. You gave her a gift by letting her go. It's not selfish *at all* to wonder at times why you do this heart wrenching work...and that's the understatement of the century.

Linda~ You are a treasure. God has to be pleased with all that you do for these little ones. You are most certainly the kind of righteous soul that is spoken of in Proverbs 12:10. ..."The righteous care for the needs of their animals..."


Many prayers & blessings to all of those who give so unselfishly to these little rescue pups. May their rewards be ever so rich when it is time for them to cross that bridge too. Surely there will be LOTS of happy tails & wet kisses fully ready to welcome these precious ladies home too when it is their time.

I don't even know what to say. You all are so wonderful. You have no idea how much your kind words mean.

Today is a bit brighter. I snuggled with my pups last night and prayed for Mindy and all the babies who I hope one day to see again. I have to believe that all of us will one day be reunited with people and animals who have been a part of our lives.

Was way too chicken to read this thread at first and then caught up and read it, knowing it would be sadder than sad somehow. My heart breaks for you and the pain you have seen and dealt with with your YHR babies, particularly so soon after such a difficult time in your own life. This latest little angel Mindy is one more who will happily greet you on that day when we are all finally home for good. No doubt you've earned quite a pair of beautiful wings of your own, Linda, as so many furry, sweet little souls can readily attest.

I have no clue how you can do what you do, day in and day out. It takes a very special kind of person to give their all to a pup they have just met, knowing that despite your best efforts they can't save them all. Yet you do it with a willing heart. And despite the pain you are feeling right now, I know you will do it again because of the joy and hope you can bring another pup who is trusted in to your care.

Bless you all...thank you so much for caring...not just for me, but for these poor babies who are given what they do not deserve. Somehow your caring makes it a bit more tolerable..although I am really questioning how much longer I can bear to do this. I swear it just gets worse and worse. It was not this bad when I first started out wanting to help. I honestly feel like my heart is being slowly chopped into little pieces.

I can well understand how you must feel. The physical and emotional toll on your person have got to be very heavy and I'm sure cumulative. Our own physical and emotional trials add to that, too. Sometimes I can barely stand to read about what you have to actually deal with so how you do manage day-to-day, night-after-night, is just beyond me, it really is. I admire you greatly but all here will completely understand when you say the time has come to retire from YHR. You've helped many, many dogs and people in dire circumstances and doglovers everywhere owe you a real debt for your compassion, time, money, hard work, loss of sleep, pain, angst, caring, patience, diplomacy in working out impossible situations and sharing all you have to give. But people have limits and I'm sure you have yours. You are a bright shining light in the sad reality of dog rescue but everyone will more than understand the day you have to say goodbye.

Linda I'm awed by your spirit, your heart, your selflessness, and most of all your strength....it takes a special person to do what you do, all day, every day, willing to step up to the plate.....in spite of the odds. Bless you....take a minute for you...breathe...you will meet all those you have helped along the way, one day. It will be a day of rejoicing for all.

Oh, I won't ever totally leave YHR....at least I dont see it happening. It is the hands on with the emails and the sick pups that really gets to you. I took a break for a bit a couple of years ago and it helped...sometimes you just have to step away from things.
But you all are too kind...there are so many of me in this world...it is the world of rescue. It is a painful one, but still rewarding .. we have lots of happy endings that somehow make up for it in the long run.

You are such a kind person, I am in awe of your bravery, and love. She was a precious little angel, and I do see such a similarity between the two babies. The world is an amazing place, and it does seem that she was in love with you right away. Sending you love and hoping that you can get a little rest. Thank you for all that you do for these sweet animals.

Crying my eyes out, after seeing this news. I'm on a boat somewhere off Orcas Island, WA and this is the first time I've had wifi in many days. So sad.

As far as I know, he is ok. They will contact me if they have any problems...they said so at least.
