Just got the morning update...things are as they were yesterday. I did not expect much change. The good news is that she ate a small amount and there was no blackish diarrhea that the owner had reported. She had a small stool that was soft, but looked fine. She is on lactulose, metronidazole..and is on a liver diet. The goal is to try to get the ascites down and reduce her discomfort.
Tomorrow the CT scan should hopefully give us the information we need.

Linda, I saw this little sweetheart on your FB page, praying her CT Scan will provide the info you need to help Mindy.

Thoughts and prayers are with the pup....bless you and your organization for taking her in and getting her the help she needs!! What a cutie BTW!!

Let's hope her little brother does ok too!! I can't imagine the sorrow that lady will feel if she has to turn around and give him up too!!

Omg this poor little baby. Thank goodness the owner did the right thing and got her help. Shame on the breeder. :(

Hopefully tomorrow. She is at Gulf Coast and you know they get to the bottom of things fairly quickly.

Praying for this sweet baby. The woman who surrendered her, good for her putting the pup before her own heart. Praying the brother does well and that the woman takes your advice and buys insurance for him.

The breeder, I don't understand how anyone could be so cold-hearted.

I am waiting on the morning update...hopefully they can give me a time that the CT scan is going to be done. I am so on edge .. want to call them...trying to be patient.

They just called. Mindy is being taken for her CT scan now. I will update as soon as I hear something. Well..close to that....I will be at the ophthalmologist with George and Gizmo and I don't use my phone for YT so the update might be a bit later on.

I still don't have Mindy's results. They did call to let me know she is ok...took her a while to wake up from the anesthesia but that is to be expected. They removed 100cc of fluid before the scan and she still has a lot there. :( Poor little thing.

Poor baby. I'm a little late in reading about Mindy & must've missed the post, but where was the fluid pulled out from? Hope you'll find answers to what's ailing her.

From the initial post....ascites is fluid in the abdomen. She is very thin and looks pregnant from the amount of fluids in her. :(

Well, they just called and did not have the news I was hoping for. Nothing terrible yet, but I fear it is to come. The radiologist needs more time to look over her scans. Apparently, she has a very very complicated issue.....there is no clear picture of what is going on. :(

They said that if it is a shunt, the fact that she has such severe ascites is a bad sign. Just so depressing. Mindy is eating...she loves her liver diet...she said she prefers the kibble and that it takes her a few minutes to eat just one piece. She said it is really kind of cute to watch.

Her ammonia level is down from 234 to 125 so that is good. She said that what they are doing for her now could be done at home, so I will more than likely pick her up tomorrow.
I just feel sick about all of this.

Yeah, I have a feeling this one is going to be a heartbreaker. I hope not, but she did not sound very promising today. :(
