You will probably be surprised how well he will adapt to his cast. Our little Tina broke her back leg in 2 places from a fall off the bed. In no time she was out playing and running with the others. She would hold that little leg out and away she would go. We kept her cast on her a couple of weeks longer than the 6wks. they suggested and she never had any problems She was about 15wks old when it happened and she passed away this past June will be a year, and she was 15yrs. 1mo. old. Hope and pray the best for little Bentley. |
update :) Well, it has been 2 1/2 weeks since Bentley broke his leg and I think we are finally getting used to our new routine. He is able to walk on it enough to go outside to potty and can play a little bit outside his crate. I did invest in a sling and I LOVE IT! I don't know why I didn't get one sooner, even before he broke his leg! It is wonderful having his close to me but still being able to use both my hands :) We also have him a laundry basket that he can lay in next to us on the couch and play without us fearing that he will get up and walk away. We go to the vet every week for check-in's and so far everything is looking good. I can't wait for all this to be over with and have my little rug rat bouncing around again! But for now, all is well :) Thank you all again for the support! |
Great to hear the progress! |

I'm so glad Bentley is doing better! |
Way to go Bentley. Keep up the good work. |
I'm glad Bentley is doing much better! My Jules also darted out the front door when I came home and she ran down the stairs and down the block before I caught her! Thankful she didn't run out into the street :D |
