Darn Grasshopper

Oh those pesky grasshoppers. Several years ago, one of my students ran up to me on the playground saying she had swallowed a grasshopper. It turned out she had actually aspirated it. Later that night, she became very sick They had to rush her to Children's Hospital, where they found it in her lungs with an xray. They said they put pics of it in a medical journal because they had never seen this before. Maybe your Allie was just trying to rid the world of those terrible critters. I hope she feels better soon.

Wow...that's sad your baby got so sick from that grasshopper, dang it anyway. Winston just loves the hunt, he likes to chase them and crickets, but when he catches it he also knows when I say leave it...he leaves it. I can't stand the thought of him eating them...eeewww.

The weirdest things can happen when you are teaching. How awful for your student. I remember I had a few elementary students that were enthralled by grasshoppers. It got so bad that sometimes we had to keep them on the pavement instead of the grass during recess.
