please pray for Pixie Pixie was up all night with vomiting and diarrhea. I took her to the vet and she was running a fever. They put her on fortiflora and metronidazole. The throwing up has stopped but now still is having diarrhea:( She just had blood in her stool I am calling the vet now. I am worried sick bc Pixie is never sick. |
1 Attachment(s) The Vet said that if she has another bloody stool they will hospitalize her. I am so worried:( She looks so sad:( |
Sending prayers that little Pixie will get well soon. |
prayers for Pixie |
Poor Pixie! :( Praying the meds will help her and that she won't have to be hospitalized. Sending gentle hugs to your little girl. |
I pray that Piie gets well soon. The Flagyl and FortiFlora should help her a great deal. |
Sending prayers for Pixie!! I pray her meds kick in and the diarrhea stops soon. Poor baby girl :( |
Prayers being sent for Pixie and you!. |
Oh no! I feel so bad to hear that Pixie is so ill. Did they do any bloodwork at the vet? Is she to not eat and rest her tummy for a while? I will be praying for Precious Pixie and for you! *HUG* |

Poor Pixie! I pray the she gets better real soon. We went through the same thing with Tatiana a couple weeks ago. She also had blood in her stool. The blood was from the irritation of the diarrhea and she was put on the same medicine. She also got a shot for vomiting and some fluids. It took about 5 days for it to clear out of her system. She, too ate something that she shouldn't! She is back to her old self and I am on the watch that she doesn't get into anything she shouldn't eat! |
Poor wee Pixie, I hope it is just a passing bug and she feels much better soon. |
sending prayers for pixie...i hope she gets better asap. |
Oh no, poor Pixie! They don't eat if they have a bad tummy ache, but the blood in her poopie is concerning...is it bright red? That means it's her colon or lower intestine. I would try forcing the food into her mouth & keep it closed until she swallows, then she should start eating for you. That's what I had to do w/Princess when she was sick w/colitis. She wouldn't eat, so I had to force feed her, even used a syringe. Hope Pixie will be ok. |
Oh, this sounds all too familiar and it is just awful for your baby and also for you, watching her be sick and suffer. I know how scared you are but it does sound like she ate something that her tummy is not used to and some bloody diarrhea is all too common sometimes though it sends me, like you, straight to the vet with the dog in tow! Sounds like she's on a good meds regimen but the vet might add something for nausea if she keeps vomiting. I hope they don't have to hospitalize her for fluids and stronger meds but if she loses enough fluid, they will need to but probably just for one night. I usually syringe in a cc or water/sugar water or Pedialyte in the side pocket of Tibbe's mouth every hour or two when he'd be sick with his MVD symptoms and not eating/drinking and I would dial the amount of fluid down to half that if he vomited after getting a whole cc. but that's all with the blessing of the vet who said it couldn't hurt with Tibbe's situation. I will pray for Pixie and that her meds begin to work just any moment and she begins to feel better. I'm hoping you are posting she's up and walking around and getting back to herself very, very soon! We're here for you and Pixie so don't feel alone. All or practically all members know what you two are going through - her with the misery of an unhappy GI system and you with your worry and fretting. |
I am SO sorry to see that Pixie is so sick. Prayers lifted that she will be back to her sweet, playful self soon. Please do keep us updated. |
I am sorry Pixie is not feeling well. The medicines should help her feel better soon. I will keep her in my prayers. |
I tried to feed her at 4 today she ate a little and 5 min later it came back up. She has not had any more diarrhea since 4pm. I called the vet again and she said that I should with hold food for 6 hrs and try feeding her again. If she doesn't keep that down I have to bring her back in. I wish they would of given her a shot for anti nausea bc they always do that when Daisy has one of her episodes:( So far she has been sleeping and no throwing up or diarrhea since 4. She won't eat ice or drink water which really concerns me. |
Why don't you call the vet and see if you can run in and pick up some Cerenia for her nausea. It will probably put her to sleep as it does Tibbe but it sure stops the vomiting. |
I have found that giving them a little corn syrup in water helps settle their stomach. I hope she feels better soon. |
I so sorry to read that Pixie is sick. Sending out prayers she will start feeling better. |
Sounds like we are both going through the same Chloe went to the vet today for the same thing she is still very weak. The vet did give her something for the vomiting. Praying that Pixie gets to feeling better soon |

Poor baby. I'm so sorry you both are having to go through this. Prayers go out for both of you that she gets well soon. |
My vet is very careful with medication, but he has used Cerenia, and it definitely helps. I would imagine that he checked her gums for dehydration and wasn't worried about it. My vet usually has me withhold food for several hours with vomiting. When one of my Rainbow Bridge babies was in congestive heart failure and was not eating, he had me give her baby food. I have found that it helps to get medication in when a pup doesn't want to eat due to an upset stomach. I hope Pixie continues to improve and that your mind eases very soon. |
I am so sorry Pixie is sick. :( If she is not vomiting and does not have diarrhea now, I would not worry too much. Just keep a close eye on her. Hope it is an uneventful night! |

Sending positive thoughts to Pixie. Seems we are all having our turn at this stuff since the warm weather. I went through 2 days of it with Wallee again a few weeks ago. I gave him gravol to settle his stomach. He also would not eat or drink for a day but I did manage to get him to eat a tiny ice cube every couple hours to get fluids into him. When he finally accepted some food, I put pediolyte in it to make sure he was well hydrated. It took almost 3 days to get him back eating the way he usually does. I also think he ate something outside as he threw something red up....ugggh...They are quick as lightning at eating stuff even when we are outside with them. |
I use Gerber chicken because I home-cook for Katie, and she eats chicken for her protein source. She had an upset stomach and wouldn't eat recently. I wanted to give her a probiotic and the baby food enticed her to eat. Katie loves it. |
