Just got back from vet Miss Rosie started throwing up in the wee hours this morning. When I woke up this morning she was laying around and wanting me to hold her. She threw up again so I decided to take her to the vet. It's always better to be safe. It was Gastro Intestinal and she got meds. I found out DH gave her a tiny piece of meat last night. I am posting this so others can see 1) not to feed scraps and 2) the importance of getting to the vet. DH is in the dog house! Please keep my baby in your prayers. I hate it when she is sick. :( |
Awe sweet girl I hope she feels better. |
Oh no :( Praying for Rosie and that the meds help her feel like herself really soon. This warning is so necessary. I tell dh this and the vet tells him this and yet...he still has to be warned daily. Gets tiring. Everytime I walk by and dh is eating and the pups are at his feet, I *always* say, "Mandie, don't get Daddy in trouble." He has a hard time resisting that cute face. Glad you got Rosie on into the vet. :) |
I pray the your sweet girl will feel better, soon! I know all about them yorkies eating something not intended for them.....shame on you hubby! I swear they have the most sensitive tummies on the face of this earth!!! ((Hugs)) to all! :) |
my dh witnessed the bad of feeding meat himself so thankfully he follows the rules veggies only. i am sending many prayers your rosie is better asap. hugs rosie. |
Hopefully DH won't do that anymore now that he's seen what can happen! Poor Rose - I hope and pray that sweet girl is feeling fine again soon. Get well, Rosie - Tibbe is pulling for you! |
You are so smart. Always best to head for the vet! Hope things keep getting better! |

I have a small maltese and I give him boiled chicken as a treat and he gets blue buffalo for toy breeds. I do not have a yorkie (yet) but love reading about all of yours. Can someone tell me about their sensitive stomachs? My little maltese has a very sensitive stomach and only get cherrios and boiled chicken as a treat. Thanks for educating me!!! |
i hope Rosie gets better soon. My husband is the same way and Ive warned him hes not going to like to get the big vet bill when they get panceatis. Hes not going to listen untill it happens. |
These little delicate tummies can easily become upset if given things they are not use to. Mine have never eaten dog food, but got into my granddogs food my son forgot to pick up and they had diarrhea for the entire day. |
Oh no !! I hope Sweet Rosie is feeling better soon. My hubby learned a long time ago never to give any thing unless it's on the list I have typed out ! LOL |
Thanks everyone! I'm pretty mad at him. He still thinks it wasn't from the one tiny piece of meat. Well what else would it be from! Uuuugggghhhhh |
Wanted to update on Rosie. No more vomiting. Yay! She is still laying around. But Mikki is trying her hardest to get her to play lol. I am going to give her chicken and rice in about an hour. She is drinking and pottying so I think we are going to be ok! |
Thanks for the update, Rhonda. Glad to know Rosie seems to be on the mend. Hope she is getting over it and can eat her dinner soon and keeps it down. |
What is it with men??? To make a long story short - after telling my husband so many times not to feed Gina (11 yrs old) beef, he snuck her some smoked brisket with fat on it. Five days in the hospital and $5000.00 later she died. He was devastated - she was his baby. I still see him giving Zoey tiny pieces of cheese! They never freaking learn! |

Well the answer to that is, they think they are always right. My dh will say, it was just a small piece of this or that. Well, next time you can clean up the puke. I don't think they still would learn. It must be a dead brain cell somewhere. ugh!!! Hardheads!!!! So glad your baby is better. |
