(HELP) protruding bone between rib cage My 14 year old Yorkie has a protruding bone that is between her rib cage. Has anyone else noticed this on their baby? Do I need to get her into the vet? Please give me any advice..... |
i would call your vet...sorry i have no experience with this but would say that might be the best. wishing you the best..hope all will be ok. |
There is a discussion of "floating ribs" here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ween-ribs.html Every Yorkie has a pair of floating ribs, which can sometimes protrude a little and look funny, but it is normal and harmless. Is your Yorkie in any pain? If you have any doubts, take her in to see the vet, and let us know what it turns out to be. |
Interesting. I learn something new everyday here. I would still call vet and see what he/she has to say. |

My Milo does and it feels funny but that's what it is. I got my vet to check him and that's what he told me it was. |

Reply to bone protrusion My sweet little "mama" dog is named McKenzie. I did call her vet, he said it is normal on a small dog, especially at the age she is. As long as she doesn't act in pain or if she isn't eating not to worry about it. She's not in pain and she is eating normal. Thanks for all your advice and input. Love & Hugs:) |
