Best wishes for the tests . I read my above post and meant conscientious :) not contentious  which is the last thing in the world you are. |
LOL! Carolyn, I didn't even notice! Thank you more than you know for those kind words. I'm trying to be a good nurse to him. At times like this, I wish I was a vet. I'm encouraged - Tibbe is sound asleep and no reaction so far - breathing at his regular sleeping rate - no itching today and no vomiting, coughing, head-hanging down and no diarrhea. He hasn't pooped yet but I imagine there has been nothing to poop until his tiny meals today. I'll check those gums in a bit. Called to schedule his test and no Rx/order for it yet but I gave them my phone number and they will call me as soon as it's faxed. I called the vet and the tech said the vet said he will get it done today. The vet did tell me to wait a couple of day and call Animal Imaging but I wanted to just get it done. He'd wanted Tibbe's gastroenteritis to have time to calm a bit before we put him through that. But, so far so good. |
You are a great nurse to him. You are doing a great job. I am glad to hear he is eating a little more. Good thoughts to you both |
Keep up the good work Tibbe and Nurse Momma. So happy you are feeling better. One more test and hopefully we are done. Yeh!!! Keep that tail up. |
It's been over 2 hours after his Metronidazole and he's okay. (He did have 5 mg. of it at the vet yesterday and survived that.) He went outside in the cold wind, came in, ate 10 more kibble pieces I fed him and I handed him his chewie and he took it, even started half-heartedly trying to hide it and his tail came up like a flag. He trotted into the living room and down the hall with it - and I called him off - don't want him stressing his system or liver. He brought his chewie back to the couch and now he's asleep again with his chewie beside him. Shades of normalcy are so precious. |

Just read your post above me, so glad to hear Tibbe is home and showing some signs of normalcy. |
So sorry. :( I had a feeling. |
Keeping tibbe in my prayers. |
I know nothing about this stuff - but just wanted to say I just read this whole thread and will keep Tibbe and you in my thoughts! You're such a great mama, he's really got the best caretaker in the world! |

Poor boy - from his comprehensive exam and testing last Friday and Tuesday and his IV fluids yesterday, both of his little mid-forelegs are shaved and have a needle mark. He hasn\'t had a bath for 4 weeks but I keep his face, ears, peripenial/anal areas washed and clean until he\'s well enough for a bath. |
Still in thouights and prayers for Tibbe. I am so hoping there will be no surgery and he will be fine. Keep looking up . |
Ive been cathching up on today\'s posts. I\'m so glad to hear that both of you slept last night. You both needed that and together. Keeping prayers and good thoughts your way. Hang in there girl!! |
Jeanie, there is absolutely nothing I can suggest for you to be looking for, doing, expecting, finding, ec....you are like a duck on a junebug, sweetie.....you have this completely under control! You are educating yourself for any "if\'s, and\'s or but\'s", and you are sooooooooo tuned into Tibbe, it is a marvelous thing to behold! So very encouraging to watch you confidently going thru all the medical procedures and testing and following up with his at home care....absolutely a wonderful thing! I love all your little training specialities with that precious baby, and his so in tuned to his momma attitude.....keep your strength up....I have NO doubt that Tibbe will come out of this, at the very worse, managable medical condition, at the very best, completely healthy....and you will be able to handle any of it because of the involvement you have with Tibbe....symbiotic relationship with Tibbe...so close, so in tune....so precious. I am continuing to pray for healing and strength for Tibbe, guidance and wisdom and strength/ relief for you. |
Just stopping in for an update. Thank you for posting how things are going. You and Tibbe are so beloved here, and we\'ve all been so worried. Give that sweet, adorable, little fuzzy face, a kiss from me and the girls. I\'ll keep praying you have all your answers soon. |
Well, Judy, what can I say? You make me sound pretty good where truth be told, I was too myopic and scared to really see what was happening with Tibbe sooner and should have. I had ostrich syndrome. But when Crystal laid it out, it was a have-to step to get his BAT. Now, hopefully, with YT and you all helping and guiding and his vets, he can get through this. I just did his vitals, gums and he\'s WNL so far so good. I\'m only 7 minutes drive-time from the ER vet and things are all laid out so we can get out of the house and on our way fast. I\'ve been over what to do a hundred times in my head but hopefully, no need and he\'ll hang in there until we get a diagnosis and start treatment. But your kind words mean so much as do everyone\'s. What in the world did I do before YT? |
