I Don't Think My Piccolo Is Feeling the Greatest... Poor girl. I had her at the vet last week for her yearly checkup and the blood tests all came back okay. He did find a loose tooth. I just took her back this morning to have her teeth cleaned and that tooth pulled. I am hoping her weird acting behavior is because of teeth issues and it will all be taken care of today. However she has been doing other things like refusing to jump up on anything or climb the steps. (She will go down the steps.) I have not taken her for a walk for three days, because of this. Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed that things will be resolved today. If not, I will seek other medical help, but not sure what type yet. |
Hoping that all goes well for her today, poor baby |
Praying for Piccolo to feel better and that the dental goes well today :) |
Thoughts and prayer for Piccolo....please keep us updated! |
hoping she is back to normal after her procedure...sending many prayers. |
Sending prayers for Piccolo. I do know that after Jada's dental and the removal of some loose and decaying teeth, she has acted like a new pup!! I felt so bad because I didn't realize her teeth were like that. She has a dental every year :( |
Teeth can make them act strange....but with those symptoms I would be thinking knees or back. Hope all goes well for Piccolo today. |
Sending prayers once the tooth is pulled all will be good |

That's kinda strange about the jumping...makes me worry about knees, hips, arthritis...or lower back maybe? I don't know, but maybe have the vet palpate her knees and other spots. |
Warm thoughts for Piccolo! |
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I called at 12:30 and they said she was doing fine. I have an appointment at 4, so will get to pick her up and talk to the doc. At first I thought she was not going up the steps because her hair had gotten too long and maybe she was stepping on it. But, I butchered it and things did not change. (Oh, is Pic's groomer going to groan) It really is hard to separate the pain that she might have been feeling from her teeth, from pain she might be feeling from some other reason. Anyway, hopefully she is better, if not, I will keep seeking help. Your ideas are much appreciated. |
Just now seeing this! Oh Poor Piccolo! I do hope she's feeling better all over! |
Sending prayers and positive thoughts for sweet Piccolo. You both will be in my thoughts, hugs. |
Oh I sure hope she feels better soon. Please keep us posted. Sometime the oddest things are a sign of something off.. the little guys show pain or not feeling well but we can't read the signs too well. There are so many it could be.... I just pray is is simple and she is back to her happy self fast. |
Poor little girl. Piccollo is gorgeous; there is no doubt in my mind that she looks as beautiful as ever, even after your trim. I hope the dental helps her and the vet can find out what is bothering your special little girl. |
Just seeing your thread and am sorry to hear about her tooth and her refusal of certain activities. Now that the tooth is out, I'm praying that this little girl will feel less pain and perhaps start resuming all her normal activities. Thank goodness though that she has a mommie who will keep on seeking answers and treatment if that doesn't happen. Hopefully if she's still cautious in the same way after the tooth extraction site heals, it will be found to be nothing more than a strain in a shoulder muscle or something and not arthritis. Here's hoping and praying for Piccolo. |
Prayers for you and sweet Piccolo. |
Sorry to hear this Lisa... Keep me (us) posted! She may need som Zeel .... |
OH no. I'm sending get well wishes to Piccolo, and hope she is back to normal soon. It is so frustrating when you know something just isn't right, but you can't put your finger on it. Hugs.... take care, and let us know how she is later. |
Cali and I are sending best wishes to Piccolo hoping she will be back to herself soon ! |
Poor Piccolo :( I really hope the dental has helped. Is there any possibility she has sprained her lower back? Jenna did this just walking a few months ago and then suddenly sat down hard and wouldn't walk any farther. She had wrenched something in her L3-L5 area and it took a few weeks of complete bed rest and no jumping/climbing/etc and anti-inflammatory meds to make her feel better. One day just as quickly as it had happened she was back to herself. I really hope Pic is feeling better soon. ((((((((((((Huge hugs))))))))) to you. |
I hope the dental is all thats needed and Piccolo is feeling better after it I |
Thank you friends, for your well wishes about Piccolo's health. Yesterday she had to have four teeth pulled, which surprised me because I thought it was going to be one tooth. I think this has made her feel much better and she has bounce in her step again. (Of course she is on pain medicine right now.) Piccolo's vet said she might have some arthritis in her back, but there have been no tests to verify this. He suggested seeing how it goes with her for the next week. The happy news is that she is now getting on the couch to take a nap and has gone up and down the stairs several times. Hopefully, as yorkietalkjilly suggested, Piccolo has some type of strain and just needs to rest. Anyway, things appear to be positive for my girl and I appreciate your comments and happy thoughts for her. |
I'm glad Piccolo seems to be on the mend. I know with Jada getting those bad teeth out really put the bounce back in her step. |
So glad Pic is feeling better! |
So happy Pic is feeling better |
oh yay!! so glad she on the mend! |

I am so worried about Mandie's dental Thursday. She has 2 baby teeth that I know need to come out..I'm so worried she might need more. It must be hard to tell because I see everyone's babies needing more teeth pulled than they originally thought. Piccolo - keep getting better, gorgeous girl :) |
I am very happy to hear that Piccolo is feeling better. Sending gentle hugs to your beautiful girl. |
