Praying for Cassie. |
Checking for an update....hope all is ok with Cassie... |
She's out!!!! Talked with the doctor and she said she did very well WHEW! Stone was HUGE, almost a centimeter! Urine had most AWFUL smell. She is in a neck brace for stabilization which I know my neurologist did not really want for her as she says it causes more problems than it solves, but I think it was only temporary for the surgery-but they did still have her in it while she is in recovery and the doctor was talking with me. Need to check on that. They have a private nurse sitting with her while she is in recovery TO MAKE SUR SHE doesn't get aspiration pneumonia like she did the last time. They are sending the stone out for analysis but she says she's almost positive it was caused by a UTI. She says I need to talk with my Vet about diet which I know nothing about as yet. Need to call in about an hour for update and visit! THANK YOU for all your prayers! YOU DID IT!!! that's all I know for now! Love A most grateful Shellie Will update as info is available Peace and blessings to all |
Thank you SO much for the update!! So happy to hear that everything is ok!! :) |
BTW: Texas A&M said the same thing about neck braces for these pups with AAI that cannot be repaired. Sammy has had surgeries there and the main thing they said is to keep a close eye on them while they are coming out of the anesthesia....they said it is best for someone to hold the pup until he/she is out of the anesthesia. They can sometimes move around when coming out and could injure their necks. |
Cassie Good Girl Cassie! Thank you so much for the speedy and positive update. You must be so happy she did so well. Poor baby with such a huge stone, she is a brave little girl. It is comforting that she is being carefully monitored and cared for post op, and you can rest well knowing that. Hope Cassie feels better soon after the ordeal and that you have her home soon. Thoughts and prayers for a rapid return to health. You will sleep better tonight! |

What a relief to read that she is out of surgery and awake! I'm so glad that stone is gone and that little sweetie can NOT hurt now from that thing. Hopefully, she will heal on schedule and feel better soon. I know it is going to be rocky for both of you for a while as she goes through her post-op period and you won't get a lot of sleep probably so rest up while you can and I am still praying. |
PTL that Cassie has come through the surgery and is now rid of that awful stone! Bless her heart and yours! I'm praying for a speedy and full recovery. I hope you can get some sleep now. *HUG* |
