Call your vet and poison control now. Aspca poison control 888-426-4435. Give 1/2 tsp hydrogen peroxide and make sure he vomits up the tablet. You have less than 1 hr after ingestion to do this. The sooner the better. |
I agree Marilyn. Vet and poison control ASAP |
Yes I agree vet and poison control ASAP. Please update and let us know. Sending prayers for this baby! |
You are working against time!!! If you do not have hydrogen peroxide, dont pitz around worrying about it....go immediately to your ER vet....as soon as you get there tell them what he ate and how long it has been since he ate it....they will have time to pump his tummy.... |

Praying that this little one comes out of this unharmed. |
Watch for lethargy, respiratory depression, and do not let him aspirate! (Vomit and breathe into the lungs) If you are still reading this, stop & get to the vet. Update us asap. Prayers... |

This post made me think...I've bought a first aid kit for dogs but know it doesn't have stuff like hydrogen peroxide in it. Does anyone know if there is a "what should be in a dogs first aid kit" post??? I can't search for some reason on my phone to look it up! |

xanax I do have hydrogen piroxide...3 percent. The poison control line cost 65 dollars ..I dont' even have 10 bucks in my account. I' will give him the Hydrogen proxide and see. I'm not 100 percent sure that he ate it but I can't find it anywhere on the floor and I've searched with hands and flashlight and it's nowhere to be found. I guess the hyd pryoxide won't hurt if he didn't eat it, right? |

Dont' have her home phone |
According to the web, a typical pet dose is 0.01 to 0.05 mg per pound. At 1 mg, your baby has taken a lot. Is there an emergency vet you can call? My friends dog ate chocolate once and the ER vet told her what to do over the phone. |
Found this: free 24 hour poison control through Kansas State Univ 785 532 5679. Hope it works |

Let us know if the hotline works. |
Called my RN in KC who has Deucy's baby boy. She is calling her night vet and is going to call me back since I don't have the 65 dollars. Deucy is not acting too strange but his stomach is quivering. That is not like him. Waiting on call back from my friend, Pauline in KC |
I hope your friend can help. Here is one more number I found. It said it was free. Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Diazepam) Poisoning in Dogs and Cats |

My friend, Pauline..called her vet which is the same vet I take Deucy to 120 miles from here and she said that it will NOT kill him. If I was certain (which I'm not quite certain) that he ate it, I was to give him 1.2 teaspoon of hyd. pyroxide but it just hurts him so bad to vomit. He's only vomited twice in his seven years. It's been over an hour now and he is acting ok.. So, I won't put him through the vomiting process. Just wish I could find that stupid pill. At least I know it won't kill him if he' doesn't vomit. He may walk funny but it will not kill him. GOOD NEWS and THANK YOU to my friend, Pauline!!!!!!!!!! |
Thanks for the update!!! |
1-800-222-1222 is free poison control number. |
