i hope teddy is much better when you pick him up today...poor lil guy. prayers for a speedy recovery. |
Yorkie hurt I got him- he has a soft cast on - he has already had his pan pill and about to snuggle down for a nap while I do my computer work- he is right next to me- |
Aw poor baby. Glad that part is over. Hope recovery goes well. Give baby a hug and kiss for me. Your vet sounds great. |
So glad to hear he is doing better. We also have a wonderful vet who will meet us at her office anytime after hours for emergencies. I guess I just assumed most vets would. |
So glad he is on the mend...keep us updated please. |
Checking on little Teddy Bear to see how he is getting along and how his pain level is doing. Sure hope the meds aren't making him nauseated or anything. It's still hard to believe you found a vet clinic where they have a regular vet that sees you nights and operates himself. Thankfully, I haven't had a dog with an orthopedic injury since our second dog years and years ago. But I didn't think any ordinary vets still saw patients at night, much less operated nights except for the ER Clinics, for life- or limb-threatening conditions. I had thought if you took a dog in during the night to the ER vet clinic with something like Teddy had, they would do like they mostly do in hospital ER's; and if you have a displaced fracture or need orthopedic surgery, unless you have a seriously unstable fracture or nerves/vessels being compromised, etc., they usually just drug, splint/brace, elevate and ice you and you wait to see the orthopod the next morning and get scheduled for any necessary surgery. But at least the patient gets a diagnosis, stabilization and some pain relief. With dogs, though, so many people seem to think dogs don't hurt badly when they are injured and just wait and wait to get them in for vet care. I've seen several posts where it sounds like the dogs were injured in a fall or are limping, etc., and are likely hurting and still the OP will delay seeking vet care. You didn't. Got that little one right in and got him some pain relief. That's my kind of dog mommie! Ladyjane(Linda), I'll bet everyone here knows what a fantastic mom to your babies you are. And I know you've had plenty of experience with all manner of emergency conditions. |
I hope Teddy recovers fast and good thing he has a wonderful Mom. Sending get well wishes. Susan |
Hope all is well with Teddy Bear. |
Best wishes for a full recovery. So glad you took him in. |
Update ofn Teddy Bear He is doing good- He is getting around pretty good- although we try to keep him from doing too much- I put the bed on the floor- even though my husband protested (lol) told my husband it was good exercise for him bending and standing back up- . My vet has called twice now to check on Teddy Bear- We live in Arkansas so I think all the vets will see their clients after hours for their patients. I am so happy that he is coping with this- so impressed to know I have everyone here that cares and willing to give support and advice |
I am so glad to hear he is on the mend. It is hard when one of our little ones are hurting. Good thoughts to you both. |
