I agree with your steps. She is ignoring you for a reason. Again so sorry they become apart of the family the minute you bring them home. And very sad she had such a short life. RIP little girl your mommy loved you and misses you |

I stand by all I have said. I also did not mean anything negative towards the OP. I said that it was sad all the way around...apparently the OP just did not know that pups cannot continue to vomit and survive. RIP sweet puppy |
OP, I would continue to try to get your money back from that breeder....if not so much for the money, but to send her a message that what she is doing is wrong. The next puppy you get as you said will not be from her. I think if you spend some time here looking around on this forum, you will find a lot of great advice on searching for a reputable breeder....and also about the medical conditions you might run across with a yorkie. Sadly, they do get sick quickly sometimes...and perhaps with some of the great information on this site, you will be well prepared with your next puppy. So sorry you had to learn this way and go through what you did. |

I was not there and don't know what went down but neither were the people who were commenting on the awful vet :( ...I merely commented because I frequently see vets getting blasted on this site and I think it is awful. Not saying all are the best, but they really do get a bum rap quite often on this forum. |

I am very sorry you have gone thru this. |
LJ I wasnt picking on you, wasnt critiquing you I was just trying to get you to see that this person with the limited info we were given just may be deserving of the benefit of the doubt instead of jumping to conclusions that she refused vet care. Also just because there is a situation where a vet didnt do something we know they should have and you say it doesnt mean your blasting the vet. Did you here me say what a terrible vet he shouldnt be in practice. No I just pointed out the obvious that should have been done that this vet didnt. In your posts from the past I have noticed you are hyper sensitive if anyone even insinuates the vet may have been wrong. There is nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious |

Sensitive? Nah....it is just that I think people on here have a strong tendency to say ill things about vets and I will always speak up for professionals. I don't know what I would have done over the years with my precious pups without the knowledge, guidance and care given by my vets. Actually, I do know...most I would not have right now. |
Hello. I am sorry for your loss. I would definitity go after her for money back. Does she live close to you. If she does I would first stop at the police dept near her house and tell them what is going on. Then I would go to her house. So the police already know this might be a problem ;) I would talk to her nice ans calmly. Tell her what you want. That is it see what she does Also if you want to knew pup please go on the YTCA website. Best place to find a pup from reputable breeders |
TotheOp: I reread your first post. If it is correct that the breeder gave her shots on the morning of the day you picked her up; that is a problem. It is best to allow several days after a shot (s) and let the puppy be with the breeder, and then the breeder can deal with any negative reactions. For a young pup having a vet visit and a shot is stressful, then to be picked up by strangers and go to a strange home that is a heap more stress. For a Yorkie this young to let them go. 12 weeks you will read here a lot and it is what the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America recommends, and 2 lbs. I am curious when you brought the pup in to the vet on the Friday(?) what was her weight? I would highly recommend a vet visit with a new pup with-in 24 to 36 hrs of bringing them home; and if they were not eating/drinking and vomiting an earlier vet visit is in order. And I hope how-ever well respected your breeder is you take your pup in for an immediate wellness check. I have with all the breeders I have purchased pups from. I too would urge you to try and pursue your legal rights here. It does seem as if FLA has some tough laws. And according to the law you do have an option for a refund. There is some wiggle room as an active pet hobby breeder is one that sells two litters a year / 20 dogs. Beyond this I offer my condolences for your loss. This is a great site to learn all about Yorkies. |

princesshalie I'm so sorry you lost your baby...I really hope this breeder gets what she deserves! |
I think with Lynzy it wasnt so much she paid or how much something was it was more because the OP was bringing it up on here and it could be she didnt have funds to pay for the vet to keep the pup to give IV. I can see how she and ladyjane made that connection but I just pointed out there could be other reasons she brought it up |

e.t.a.- as you too will soon learn here at YT! No matter the price, the entire purchase and all the details are very bad unethical practices for a breeder...period. |

I did go back and read every single post and I now see another member already mentioned this...I just found it a little rude for you to jump to the idea of "oh this must have happened because she couldn't afford to pay" at least that's how it came across to me. I myself have stated the cost of my little mans surgery in previous threads...that doesn't by any means mean I can't afford it or won't take all necessary actions to ensure his health. And yes I agree...with small yorkies people out there deff do ask for outrageous amounts of money but, the way you said it in the original post I quoted was as if 800 was much to low and you agree that she should have been much more. Sebi was 550.00 and weighed a little over a pound when I brought him home (3lbs now).....so I thought I'd ask you why you thought it was too cheap that's all. |
