| Fletch sick again this morning! Fletch had a mild bout of HGE in late July (right before a mini 3 day trip we took) but hes been fine since. Yesterday he did not eat ... but hes a very sensitive dog and with the weather this week, hes probably very nervous and flustered. Hurricane Monday, severe thunderstorms last night, just almost constant wind & rain since Sunday night. (Luckily my other boy could care less, I don't know if I could handle 2 nervous nellys) Anyways, this morning he couldn't hold his poop in to make it outside, but it was solid and nothing to be concerned about, except that it was so urgent. So I let him out and he dry heaved and then squatted again and had a tiny bit of bloody diarrhea again. Again wouldn't eat this morning. I found the leftover meds from July and gave him a doggy kaopectate and some Rx food, which he would not eat. The kicker is... we are going on an 8 day vacation on saturday!!!!! Does he, like KNOW we are going away or something???? WTH!!!!! Hubby is home today and I told him to just take him to the vet if he does not eat or has anymore bloody diarrhea. Rather him go today and have 3 days left with us (on meds) before we leave, then wait it out until tomorrow and only have 2 days or less with us. I'm going to be sooo worried on our trip AGAIN!!!!! Hubby texted me and said he did eat his food after I left for work this morning, so thats good! UUUGGGHHH say a prayer for Fletch please!!!!

| I am sorry to hear Fletch is sick, and I do believe he senses you are leaving on vacation. Poor guy, and poor you. I hope he is doing better before you leave. Where does he stay when you travel?

| He stays with a family who my family is friends with. They take such good care of my boys. They've been their only doggysitter for 7 years now. However this is the first time, my boys are staying at their house, vs, one of them staying at my house. I'm a little nervous, but I know they love my boys and will take really good care of them and keep a close eye on them. This family also knows they can take him to the vet and I will pay the bill w/o hesitation, so they will take him if he needs to go. My husband and I try to go away for at least 1 week a year somewhere, and take a couple short weekend trips and these people are the only people I leave my boys with.

| The family is familiar to him, so that is good. He just doesn't want mommy to leave. My guys are similar -- they want everyone home. It isn't enough that they are never alone. Max even got attached to my brother when he visited for 10 days and moped when he left. I hope Fletch is better by Saturday and that you will enjoy your honeymoon.

| Yes, the family and their house is very familiar to them. This family has 3 other dogs, 2 older large gentle goldens and an older Llaso Apso. Fletch and the Llaso Shaggy love each other. Every time I go there I bring my boys and although Dexter does not leave my lap EVER, I don't see Fletch again until I have to go find him to leave their house. He'd live there permanently I think. LOL

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope Fletch is feeling better. My Cali had diarrhea today and the last was a few drops of blood. Tomorrow I am getting new carpeting (of course) so I gave her the medicine for her tummy and hope it is better tomorrow or were off to the vet. Like your Fletch, Cali has had 2 previous bouts of HGE. I hope Fletch feels better and you can enjoy your vacation without worrying about him.

| HI! Fletch is all better. That morning I gave him the leftover meds from July, the canned prescription dog food from the vet that was leftover and a doggy kaopectate from the vet. He ate that day on his own and has been eating fine since then. No more diarrhea. I pulled out the suitcase that night, later at night so it was the first time he saw it then, after his bout. I pulled it out early to make them know that just because they see it does not mean I'm just going to disappear on them immediately. I have a super cute pic though. I had to 'pack my suitcase' w/o putting a thing in it.... they both jumped into it when it was empty on the bed and stayed in it all night! LOL Silly boys! Now it's packed and set aside and Ive been home for 3 days since then, so they don't think anything of it now. I am always sad and miss my boys the first 2 days of the trip and the last day of the trip. When the trip is coming to an end, I just can't WAIT to come home and see them! This time is going to be hard because we get home late next sunday night and my husband is going to pick them up monday while I am at work, so I'm actually not going to see them from tonight to next Monday night... thats the longest time Ive EVER gone w/o them. I can't imagine sleeping in my bed and not having them there, or having them there in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. Im already dreading it... I'm so pathetic! LOL
