| LuvTaycieGirl | 10-19-2012 08:10 PM | Update for Taycie...
She has had a horrible night. She was acting funny after her second Ultrasound... I could tell something was off. About 7 pm she threw up. She wouldn't touch food at all. Because she had to be fasted for the Ultrasound at this point she hadn't eaten in 24 hours.
With all the stress these last few weeks with countless visits I felt bad, at this point I was thinking she was stressed out. I called the vet and they said to give her some Cerenia to help the nausea. I gave her some and she curled up and went to sleep.
At 1:30 am she woke up drooling uncontrollably ... It was so scared. Taycie started shaking... So I threw some clothes on and and called the ER vet while in the car to let them know we are on our way. They gave her another shot of anti-meds to combat the nausea and sub-q fluids.
Blood work was done, along with a ammonia test, and glucose test, thankfully all of which came back normal.
I actually happened to have Taycie's Binder in my car of all her medical history. I explained to the vet everything that has been previously diagnosed and she thinks because of the pressure of the radiologist pushing around in her stomach for the ultrasound made can sometimes make them become uncomfortable and very sore. Her GI tract looks pitiful right now.. so It made complete sense.
At 3 am we came home and went to sleep. I woke up at 8:30 and tried to get her to eat but she still had no interest. I called my vet and she was admitted for the day. She got another anti nausea shot and more fluids.
They were finally able to get some food in her and I was able to bring her home at 6pm. Right now she is home snuggled on the back of the couch and she is acting much better. Not a 100% by any means but we are on the mend. She is just eating plain boiled rice which she seems to be able to keep down.
So tonight.. Keep us both in your thoughts and prayers. I am ready for my girl to be on the mend.. We are both so exhausted.
On the side note.. We will meet with the IMV either Monday or Tuesday next week. So anxious to see what she says. |
