Well, she made it throughthe night. Still hasn't pooped yet this AM. She is getting a nail trim at 1:20. I hope she poops before then so I can brin a stool sample. Just to clarify, I've been switching foods because she is itchy, not because of the diarrhea. I think she just really doesn't do well on the new one I tried.

I think we're all concerned though bc diarrhea, no matter what is causing it, can be dangerous, especially if it continues for 24-48 hours, depending on the age of the pup. Puppies will succumb to it quicker than an adult. I know you watch her closely, but for anyone else reading this thread, they need to be aware...

Sounds like you need to work with a vet on this one. When there are stomach issues I know the vet uses the specialized canned Science Diet foods that are easy digestible. Be careful she does not get dehydrated from the very loose stools. She is acting out of character which worries me. I would seek professional help really soon.

I believe you need to give it some time after the switch....the allergic response can go on for some time. I honestly don't know how long .. and maybe you already know this .. just throwing it out there.

I agree...I have two allergy pups on special diets. One is on Royal Canin Hypoallergenic and another on Hills Ultra Z/D

Sophia & Brody had nail trims today. She still hasn't pooped, so I wasn't able to bring a stool sample. I asked the vet tech about her diarrhea and she brought the vet in for a second. Gums good, stomach felt good. He said it was probably the food, but if it continues this weekend to call on Monday and even though they're booked they'll squeeze us in (and to bring a stool sample). Sophia worked her charm on him & he didn't charge us! AND I returned the food today.. Exchanged it for the kind she was on before. And he felt bad so they gave me a 10% off my next purchase! Talk about good customer service!!

Just an update, Sophia is all better! I did find 2 bumps on her leg & a huge tick in Brody's chin today... So off to the vet we go tomorrow

Very happy to hear Sophia is all better! Sorry to hear about the bumps and the tick -- and another vet visit. Praying the bumps are nothing.

So glad sweet Sophia is better. My Spud had a tick in his fur on his head. It is a good thing to check our dogs after walks and outdoor activities to get these ticks if there are any.
