Anyway....she suggested that I try her with some Orzo and a little chicken...see if she will eat that and if she does then she can formulate a diet for her. She gave me her email so that IF Olivia does not like the pasta, she can make some other suggestions to try before doing a diet. So, I am very pleased about that. So, all is good now....will pray that the UPC shows some improvement.[/QUOTE] There is another pasta called "Riso" it looks like rice but isnt. It even has the texture of rice when cooked. I use it in the food that I cook for all of mine. You might check with the nutrisionist to see if this is ok for an alternative. |
I am just now dealing with a sick baby boy and I feel your pain. Thank goodness that you have access to the great vets you do! We will pray for Olivia, you are both in our thoughts and prayers! |
Actually, she said any white pasta...she only mentioned orzo because of the size. At this point it is just to see what she might eat. She is the only picky one in my home...and she only got this way once she became ill. She was never a real chow hound type, but not picky like she is now. I give all of my pups green beans and sweet potatoes for treats and Olivia will not touch them. |
Olivia's UPC results are in and she is at 1 now. Last month it was .9 , so it really is essentially unchanged. The goal is to get her as close to .5 as we can. Hopefully if I can adjust her diet, that will help to get it lower. He wants to see her again in 3 months. |

I do hope you find out soon what is up with King. I have been thinking about him and praying for him. |

Guess you will be busy in the kitchen as Olivia's personal chef. ;) |
Well, she is not well....but at least she is not getting worse. That is the best I can hope for....neither diagnosis is one I want her to have. :( |

Sending prayers |
Thinking of you at this time and I pray Olivia get well very fast. Susan |
Olivia started acting weird about food yesterday and refused her meds which is not like her. This morning she did not come out to eat...I went in the bedroom to get her and she took one sniff of her food and walked away. With her history, I decided it would be best to just go straight to the specialist. They did an ultrasound and various labs. Nothing alarming...in fact her ultrasound showed much improvement since her last one in December. She had a large gall stone at that time that has broken up into fragments. Her liver looked good. So...they gave her an anti nausea injection and sent her home on metronidazole. If she is starting to have some infection this should take care of it. I am to call the specialist tomorrow and they will add meds if she is still not eating. She did refuse her food this afternoon...baffling. She has gained .5 pound since December, so they were happy with that. Hopefully tomorrow morning she will be feeling better. |
Praying she feels better soon. |
Praying for you and Olivia...its so hard when our babies are not feeling good! |
Checking to see how Miss Olivia is doing today. Hopefully her appetite is back and she is improving. My heart goes out to you with all this worrying. |
Checking in to see how Olivia\'s doing this morning. Praying the anti nausea medication helped and that she was able to eat. Keeping Olivia and you, both in my prayers. |
