Is Carol the woman who went to the nursing home and you took Nikki for her? I had misssed your posts after she passed away. I hope Nikki is doing better.

Yes that's Nikki. I never thought he would make it another 2 1/2 years. He is resting very comfortably now. The medicines seem to be doing there job. I gave him some chicken baby food and he is eating that. Not interested in his KD diet but at this point the vet said give him what ever he will eat. I just am so happy he is comfortable and not so restless. He sleeps all the time but at least he isn't in any pain and is really relaxed in his bed next to me. Thanks for all the prayers. I just can't face losing him.

I'm glad he's comfortable and resting well. That is all you can do, Patti. Carol is probably smiling down on you for the wonderful care you've given her little boy.

Patti, I am so sorry that Nikki isn't doing well. And the double whammy of your sister moving - too much for one kind soul. I will keep you and Nikki in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for all the prayers they seem to be working. Nikki is much steadier on his feet, eating the baby food mix and resting comfortably. He was giving me tons of kisses tonight so I think he is feeling a lot better.

I haven't been on for awhile..I hope Nikki is still showing signs of improving,and that he is not in any pain or discomfort.

Nikki had a bad night. I woke up to him having some weird breathing issues. I was worried but his gum color was good and it wasn't like he couldn't breathe he was just making weird noises every now and then. I didn't want to rush him to the er so I stayed up with him and about 30 minutes later he started throwing up a lot of brown liquid. Once he did that his breathing returned to normal and he went to sleep. He has been ok all day. I am feeding him different food since he won't eat his KD food and the vet said to give him baby food. So I think maybe his stomach was upset. If I had felt he needed to go to the er I would have taken him but he settled down pretty quickly. I just pray he can stay comfortable for a little while more. Thanks
