Mikki hurt her leg Mikki has LP and jumped down from my recliner tonight. Her and Rosie were playing and she jumped. Now my sweet girl is limping. :(:( We are making her rest and will determine in the morning if we need to see the vet. I have felt all over her leg. She doesn't yelp or anything. Just not putting her weight on it. She can move it but don't want to walk on it. Please please say an extra prayer for her. I am hoping she is better tomorrow. If not, we will be at the vet once again bright and early. :( |
Oh no! Prayers sent for Miss Mikki... My Sapphire did that a month ago... took about 4 days before she was comfortable using it again... but she did put some weight on it by the next day... hope Mikki's okay.... |
I am soo sorry she hurt herself!! I hope and pray she feels better by tomorrow! How bad is her Lp..what stage? And I don't by any means which this on you, I'm just wondering if her LP is advanced enough if it she could have landed wrong and caused CL? I certainly hope she didn't though!! Believe me I understand how much it hurts when they hurt!! Again I'm sending her prayers tonight for a speedy recovery? |
oh poor Mikki, it's so hard to keep them from jumping. Hopefuly in the morning it will be better, I will say a prayer for Mikki before I go to bed tonight |

Her LP is a 3 I think. Isnt 4 the highest? She has it pretty bad. If she is not better tomorrow we will see the vet. Thanks everyone for the prayers. I appreciate them. |
Lp of 4 is the highest. I am sooo sorry this has happened!! I know you have to be worried sick!! I really hope she begins to feel better soon!!! |
Oh, poor little Mikki...this mmakes me feel SO guilty :( Luma is young and doesn't have LP as far as I know, but she jumps on/off our bed all the time and stands on her hind legs/walks on 2 feet often during playtime..In the back of my mind I'm afraid these things will lead to LP. I will pray that God helps Mikki have a restful sleep and that she may heal quickly. |
I'm so sorry Mikki injured herself! Poor baby! Libby did that once...when she was quite young...jumped off the coffee table she wasn't sposed to be on and she landed wrong. She held her leg up and walked on the other 3. I did take her to the vet and can't remember if he gave her anything for pain, but I'd say in about a week, she was healed up well and able to use that leg again. I haven't had a problem since, thank goodness. I hope little Mikki heals up quickly too! |
I hope Mikki is ok. Prayers coming for her. |
Poor baby. I hope all is okay. I haven't mentioned it yet But Ahi also has LP of both rear legs. :( We try to be so careful with her but she is such an active pup. |
How is she today? This has happened to my big guys..they would limp ..run to the vet and was told they were fine. So I am hoping that is the result for you! If you have to do rest I can tell you were you can get a good deal on a stroller:) |
I went to bed with Mikki in my prayers and woke up thinking about her this morning. I pray she is feeling better when she gets up this morning. |

How is little Mikki this morning? I am resisting the urge to text you this early ;) :D |
I hope Mikki is feeling better today:) |
Thanks everyone. I was so upset last night. I can't believe how much I love these furbabies. I keep saying Mikki is all daddy's pup. WELL, after the last few weeks I am not sure that is 100% true. I think momma loves her a little more than we knew. ;) Well Mikki got good rest. Momma didn't ha ha. I was up all night checking on my baby. She is putting weight on the leg this morning so I think that is a good sign. Even tried to play with Rosie but I picked her up and won't let her. I think she better do another day of rest at this point. I am so relieved she is putting weight on it. She is eating and drinking fine. Going potty fine. I think she is going to be ok but I will be watching her. I will continue to update. Thanks again! Lisa and Michelle, once again you are true friends to me. What would I do if I didn't have you two????? Thank you for helping last night when I needed it! |

very glad to hear that, LOL I wonder if us yorkie moms every get any sleep, either we are worrying about our baby or someone else's. |
Sorry....just seeing this or I would have posted last night. I am so happy to hear that Mikki seems better this morning. I have had this happen quite a few times and most of the time they improve. They can tweak their knees easily when they have LP. Of course, you already know, if she is not better, get her to a vet for an evaluation. Often they put them on anti-inflammatories. Torn CCL is always a concern, but since she seems better this morning, it probably is not that. |
Poor Mikki...I'm glad to hear she's doing alright this morning. |
My female Japanese Chin has luxating patellas. She will be 2 years old soon. We already give her glucosimine/condroiten (SP??) to hopefully ward off any future problems. If you like PM me and I will give you the name of the stuff I use. Hope Mikki is doing OK this AM. Praying she is well, Louise |
awww, poor Mikki! So glad to hear she is improving! |
