So glad its going well. I have a question though, hope its not received unintentionally, but I was tild all med changes should be dobe over a 90 day cycle of course this was in reguaed specifically to Elvis. L My question is did your vet set the schedule here? |
Oh, Elvis loves baby carrots above everything but chicken! Green beans are a fav treat here I use them before pumpkin to calm tummies. |

Next week I will do 25% dosage for 2 weeks and then I will do 12% dosage for another 2 weeks. The total will be 10 weeks. I am comfortable with this as long as Max is as well. |
I see. Thanks for taking it as it was meant. You're like me too, take the advice and go another step to be extra safe. I'm so happy its going smoothly. |

No. The liver damage is only managed. That's our big fear with Elvis, he ia still having seizures and we're carefully raising his dosage to find a balance. Unfortunately the kiver is the lesser of two ecils, the neurological and kidney damage (thuroid too) from not being medicated is also irriversible. As far as liver regeneration vets and Drs are in disagreement, its a big medical debate as far as I understand. |

No but we do the liver test blood work next month I think on the 29 and based on the report we will create the next 1 year epilepay plan, but our plans only ever really last 3- 6 months anyways I get semi bitter the vet calls it the annual progress plan. I'm acceptibg of it all but still there are days I just wanna rant about how nonprogressive epilepsy treatment can be. |

Hi Karen, I've been thinking of you and the Boys while I've been mia on YT lately. Just saw this thread on Max's seizures and was quite scared when I first read it but was so happy so see he's making such great progress with the medication.;) Sending hugs and prayers to you and Max. :) |
I'm just seeing this thread, too. Glad to hear Max is doing so well as you lessen the dosage. Prayers he continues to keep symptom free and hugs to you for being such a caring Mom wanting what is best for your boys.:) |
It's been about 8 weeks and Max is doing fantastic! He's on 7.5 mg per day now only in the mornings. I believe I will stop the medication completely next week. Thanks for all of your support:) |
That's fantastic news! |
Very happy to hear that Max is doing so well. Praying that he can bid farewell to the medication for good. |
Sending hugs and best wishes to Max. So happy to know he's doing so well. ;) |
