My Adina is having surgery tomorrow... 1 Attachment(s) Please say a prayer for my sweet Adina. She is a timid little one (bad breeder situation 5 years ago and she is better but still timid) and it is going to kill me to leave her for surgery tomorrow. She started limping off and on in October. The xray showed hip dysplasia. She did get relief from the Metacam for a while, but lately she was favoring one leg so my vet recommended an ortho evaluation. She is having one hip done (FHO) and then the surgeon will follow her every six months after. The other hip is not quite as bad and I am just not wanting to put her through both at one time. He gave me the option of having them both done because he said it would save money.......that may be but I don't want her to hurt more than she has to. He said that she may never need the other one done. I hope not. :( Attachment 368212 |

Many thanks to all of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Leaving Adina this morning was depressing for me even though I know she is going to be just fine. They are wonderful over there and I really am over worrying. Anyway...I had some questions about the surgery and had emailed them ... Dr. Beale is going to call me in a little while. He is in his first case and just finishing up...then he is going to check Adina and call me. She is scheduled as the third case, so it will probably be a few hours before I hear how the surgery went. I just need to keep busy and it will go faster. I hope. |

On a different note, I had to chuckle when you said you had to keep yourself busy, in an earlier post. Seems like that would be an easy thing to do with all your YHR volunteer work. Anyway, bet your girl will be so happy to see you tomorrow. :D |
