Just checking in on Livie - I have been following the thread. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hoping you can find a way to get her the surgery that she needs. |
I know this has been so stressful for you and sweet Livie. I agree with Tena if you are unable to get the surgery for her a rescue is a great option. We all understand how difficult this is. The quicker something is done for Livie the better it will be for her. Please keep posted. Prayers for both of you. |
Looking for updates??? |

Sending our prayers for Livie.:hands: |
I still haven not heard from you! As Parrella stated I feel very strongly you need to do what is best for Livie. She is not receiving proper treatment, unable to walk or stand, needs to be fed and cleaned and yes monitored/watched 24/7 right now. You risk permanent damage to her, I know you want what is best for her, but have you even applied for Care Credit ? I have gone through all of it with Shelby, and then some because of Congenital Defects her Breeder would not admit to such as: Hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), MegaEsophagus (enlarged throat-we have to watch her eat), and AAI Atlanto Axial Instability, she was born without the ligaments or dens holding her C1-C2 together. She still has problems we watch her closely. I will never forgive her Breeder! Yes I have anger towards her, but I didnt wait around for her to do anything. I took action, Shelby received immediate Medical treatment. Please Please you need to take this seriously, you can speak to us via PM here or on the yahoo group site I gave you info on, I dont know what else to say to you I beg you to consider your actions and do what is best for Livvie now. I pray for Livie's life |
I am so very worried about this sweet baby. I pray her owner has gotten her the help she so desperately needs. To just let her stay in the condition and do nothing is so cruel. My heart is still hurting thinking about it. More prayers still being said for Livie. |
I am also praying for Livie. I hate these stories so much. :( |
Just seeing this- please check out AMC- Animal Medical Center on the Upper East Side- it is the best place to go for any specialty in Manhattan- they are amazing doctors- you can apply for financial assistance directly with them as well. |

Hey everyone, Please bare with me if i cannot update as i have no computer at all right now. I have my phone but for some reason Yorkietalk doesn't work as great on it, and sometimes i cannot sign in so I am sorry. A quick update on Livie, good news!! She has started trying to walk. I think it was the cast that was very shocking to her and was keeping her from trying at all. She keeps trying to move, she gets up, wags her tail, responds very well but one of her front legs don't work as well. She bares weight on one of them but then the other is just sort of there so she kinda goes to the side, instead of straight. But that can also be because the cast has her falling forward and is kind of to one side, which would make her walk crooked. i have taken videos of her so you can all see how she tries to walk, but i have to figure out how to get them on here. She is eating water and drinking very well, she is going potty regularly now. Occasionally she will fall on her back and cry so i have to roll back over. She is still on pain meds for 2 more days and the doc said not to give her any if i don't see her crying or in pain, which she hasn't been. i have to go to the vet once a week to get her bandage changed, so i go this wed or thurs for the first time and then 5 more times, as she has to have the cast for 6 wks. |
