I hope he is ok... please keep us posted |
Capone is now home from the vet ..she did a complete work up and he seems to be fine (thank God). The vet seems to think he needs exposure to noises and smells.. I got Capone in December and I live in new England so he's been cooped up in the house now that it's spring and the windows are wide open she seems to think he's scared of all the unusual noises and smells.. He had 2 more attacks this morning both with loud noises one when a truck drove by and another when someone beeped.. I'm trying to keep him outside to expose him to the birds and all the noises that spring brings.. He seems to be doing ok .. Any advice on what else I can do?! I don't want to put him on medications considering how young he is .. |
Thank you all for your kind wishes !! |
Did your vet see one of these "attacks" as you refer to them? They really sound concerning to me but of course I am only going by your description of them. Perhaps you should video him when he has one of these so that you can show her if they do not improve. She is right though about socialization and exposure to things....they do need that. |
I do plan on taping it and goin for another opion if things don't improve and simply get worse .. But I'm doing my best now to expose him and keep him occupied and if a loud noise does happen I try to distract him or play with him to let him know it's not harmful .. |
My concern, of course, would be the sudden onset of these episodes. I also would think that if your baby were only scared, he would not be yelping or having restless nights. I am certainly no vet, but just using common sense, those things just don't seem to add up. It's horrible when our little ones are uncomfortable or seem to be in pain, I know you must be very concerned. I would certainly watch him carefully today, but if his symptoms continue, I believe I would have to seek another opinion. We're all thinking about you and your sweet little one - keep us posted... |
Thank you lolasmom I'm actually at the er right now.. I don't care how much it costs me my lil guy isn't right and I need to find out what's really going on with him and what I can do to make it easier for him he had another 2 attacks so I decided to bring him in .. Keeping my fingers crossed for my lil guy ., |
Your a good mom!!! I'd also see if there's a neurologist near you. A fearful dog may be just that - but as someone else said, the sudden onset of this would be very concerning to me. Hope you get some answers! |
I'm so glad to hear you are doing all you can for your little one. He is so lucky to have you! Please let us know what they tell you. I can't imagine how awful it must be to see him yelp and be in pain...my thoughts and prayers are certainly with you and your baby. Keep us posted. Good luck... |
