Cricket Surgery Fund Cricket is my nine month old yorkie puppy. She is in desperate need of an expensive operation to repair a liver shunt. Cricket is an important member of the family and we are doing everything possible to raise the necessary funds to pay for the surgery. We have set up a fund to try to raise money for this procedure. Have you applied for Care Credit ? it is Against YT rules to ask for donations , so your thread may soon be closed. I will be Praying for You & your baby. Also the link you posted is not working. |
Sorry, I didn't know it was against the rules. And thank you. |
Just want to add , I have not used care credit but know lots of YT members have. I do have a pet emergency only credit card & it's very nice to have. I recommend that you try to apply for a credit card with a low interest rate & ONLY use it for pet emergencies so it's much easier to get it paid down. I wish you luck & Pray your baby can have her surgery & live a long & happy life. |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...vet-bills.html Here is some more information on help for vet bills Good luck |
And yet another link that offers Canine Cancer: Finding Financial Assistance links to other organizations with help for dogs/owners in need of finanacial assistance |
University of Tennesee/Dr.K. Tobias specializes in liver shunts, and is very successful with them. I think they have a financial thing of some kind, I have never had to use their services so I can not swear to that, but you may want to contact them and see if something can be worked out. If I did ever have a baby with a liver shunt, I would CRAWL to UT and Dr.Tobias..... |

& treatment i could never say enough good things about them, they were wonderful...I also seen care credit advertised there..good luck to you and baby |
As others have mentioned, we don't allow donation solicitations for individual dogs, but I want to leave your thread up since others have left information for you. Please keep us posted on your kiddo, we'd sure like to know how she does :). |
Cricket Thanks for all the suggestions.I will try to keep everyone updated and you can also find out some info on facebook if you have a facebook account you can check my profile for more info on how she is doing. Just look for Barbara Diresto on facebook |
Have you told your breeder about this? Many breeders will refund the cost of the dog and that would help pay for medical needs, and she should know about this because it is hereditary. If your breeder does nothing, you might want to check your state laws; many states have lemon puppy laws. Also, you can take her to small claims court. At the very least I would do a review on her here and anywhere else I could find. |
Cricket is the daughter of two yorkies that I own. The two of them are healthy and they had 1 litter before Cricket was born and both of those dogs are healthy(they are owned by my daughter). Cricket was 1 of two pippies born to this litter before I had my female spayed and her brother was healthy also. This was quite unexpected. |
