update on Bentley
 

GOOD NEWS!!!! PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!!!!
got a call from vet about an hour (or so) ago....ALL his blood work came out normal!!!!!!!:happyboun:happyboun:happyboun:happyb oun!!! However.....his white count is very high.,...they did take a urine sample while he was there (he peed on the floor!!) He has a lot of bacteria and crystals in his urine...so the dx is UTI!! I know this is going to sound weird but, I have never felt so relieved in my life!!! I asked the vet if a UTI could cause his symptoms and she said yes....I asked her how she thought he may have gotten this....said it could be the bacteria got up into his bladder because the hair on his peanut stays wet...I told her that I use belly bands on him and if this could have caused it too...she said yes! I would use a belly band on him at night when he went to bed because he would pee on his blanket..guess what...NOT MORE BELLY BANDS! He had been doing well using the pads...if he pees in his bed....it gets washed!!!

I want to thank all of you who were kind enough to respond to my previous thread with you kind words, thoughts and prayers...THEY WORKED!

Brenda, I never thought I'd be happy to hear news like that, but it is a relief. He'll be better in no time at all!:)

she may have...I don't know! I was just so relieved to hear it wasn't seizures or liver shunt. Once she told me what it was and WASN'T I didn't hear much after that!...funny you should ask that though...his breeder asked me the same question.

LOL...I actually told the girl in the office when I picked up his meds I felt bad that I was relieved that it was a UTI!..poor little guy has to be in pain...I have had these and they are not fun..

No, they are not fun, but better than what we were all imagining!:D

What a relief. I am so happy for you. I know he probably is in pain because even when we have one they hurt. But, at least it can be treated and he will be back to his ole self before you know it. Great Bentley. Prayers were answered.

Thank you! hopefully the meds will kick this out of him by tomorrow...only got 2 doses in him so far...I can tell he is in pain,,.he shakes from time to time...poor little man...

Awww poor little Bentley. I hope that the infection clears up quickly for him. Did they xray his bladder to make sure he did not have any stones? If the pain keeps up, I might be running him back. Keep us posted on the little man's recovery!
