After Surgery Update So I FINALLY heard from them about an hour ago that she was out of surgery and awake and doing good. Dr. Beale got called away for some sort of emergency and/or had a surgery that took way longer than it was supposed to and her surgery didn't get started until really late. I called and checked at 4pm and they said they hadn't started because of delays and things taking longer. And I was trying to be patient and was waiting to hear from them, but when 7pm came around and I still hadn't hear I called them back. At that time the office was closed and I was getting very not happy. But I talked to the ER people and they got the surgery people to call me back. At that time they told me that she was about done with surgery. Then finally about 8:30 they called me and let me know she was okay. She said Somi was out of surgery and awake. Dr. Beale deepened the groove in her leg and pined the tibia (? I think) and had to ALSO suture something (I heard also as in there is the +10% $$, but I hope not). The spay went good and she had her 3 baby teeth pulled. Since all the office people had already left for the day I wasn't able to set up a pick up appointment, but they are supposed to call me first thing in the morning to set it up. I hope to get her back to me as soon as I can. I will let you know how she is when I get to see her. I bet she isn't going to be feeling very good or looking very good for awhile. :( Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. :) Oh, and I am making her a new bed for inside her crate for when she comes home :) I will post pictures when it is finished. |
Glad she made it through and is doing ok |
Glad to hear she is out of surgery and is doing well. Prayers for her recovery. |
Somi is HOME! 4 Attachment(s) SOMI is HOME!!! And she looks pretty good. All things considering... Though I'm not sure they fed her because she is looking extra skronny today. :( But she won't even eat a special cupcake. :( And she won't lay down on her new bed. I don't know if it isn't comfortable enough or if she is just feeling restless. She doesn't seem to want to do anything. :( Apparently her knee was pretty bad, they had to do two different kinds of pins and sutures. But everything went well. :) So she has her knee cap in place, no more lady parts, and no more baby teeth. And her mommy has no more money. :( I attached some pictures too... in the car on the way home. in her kiss e-collar with cupcake fabric. :) and in her room with her new bed that she apparently doesn't like very much right now even though her mommy worked very hard on it. :( and her laying on the comforter about to take a nap. :) |
Poor little thing but when she is all healed up she will feel so much better and be so thankful you took care of her. Callie was out of it and not wanting to do much of anything for the first week or two but then she started acting much better. Just remember to keep her still and from jumping and moving around a lot. |
So glad she is home. If I recall Pixie who is a chow hound wasn't much interested in food the first day home. |
Yeah I am glad that she is home. She is most likely feeling a little bit of pain. Did they give you some pain medication for her take at home? I sure hope so. Prayers going out for her recovery. |
Bless her little heart. She's looks good for everything that she's gone thru. I'm sure she will settle down after awhile and will enjoy the new bed mommy made for her. :) Somi is a beautiful little girl. |
Awe sweet girl she will be better in no time. Georgie had the same procedures done and was doing much better after a week or so. Now you would never know that he had an LP. Keep us posted on Somi. Yorkie kisses from Georgie;) |
Glad she is home and is doing well. I think it is harder for us than for them. You will see that in no time she will be back to herself. BTW she is just adorable. |
