any help? please so im not sure what to think about this.. this is my almost 4 year old yorkie Breezy.. i have done research and i think that this is something called "backwards sneezing" however iv watched videos of both the sneezing and the collapsed trachea and im not sure which my baby is doing.. he usually does it when he is really excited or eats really fast. but sometimes he will be sleeping and wake up, do it for a few seconds then go back to sleep. please let me know cause i hate not knowing.. should i take him to the vet??? |
ugh please someone help. how do i add a video?? |
Reverse sneezing is pretty common. But, it can be confused for Collapsed Trachea. Your vet can tell if the dog is doing a reverse sneeze. I would take him, so you have a proper diagnosis. |

Reverse sneezing... common most Yorkies do it. |
I just saw a video today with a dog called "Puggle"(something like that) and it was reverse sneezing and a woman squeezed his nostrils closed and he stopped. She said something about that causing his palette to release or something. I wish I could remember what thread that video was on! I am going to try that when Tibbe RS's again. He only very occasionally does it and it may not work on him but going to try. If I see that thread, I will link you to that post. |
Its reverse sneezing Laddy has done that his entire life mostly after drinking water. ;) |
My Willow does that at times and it's reverse sneezing. |

Here is the page that video is on. Hope this link works. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...y-death-2.html |
When Betty Boop reverse sneezes, I very, very gently blow into her nose. It works every time for me. It somehow relaxes her and she stops. |
