				   | It is really hard to think of what kind of shape this pup is in. There is no way he was okay after a fall like that

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've heard that younger pups might do better with a fall than an older dog, their bones are pretty soft, so maybe there would not be obvious signs of trauma immediately, but chances are there were internal injuries that were not so obvious.

				   | Back in 1970, we had a neighbor that had a pug puppy....it fell from the second story balcony from their home...landed on the grass...did not sustain any obvious injuries, ie no broken bones, no limping....they did not take the baby to the vet, as "it was fine"....it died, seems like 3 weeks later from a lacerated spleen or liver, I cant remember....that is EXACTLY what I thought of when I read this..... |

				   | I hope she got the pup to the vet. She might be afraid to post updates at this point though....

				   | Afraid? We'd be relieved to hear if this dog has been vet-checked and has been treated or humanely euthanized if nothing could be done, though that would be so tragic, at least the dog wouldn't be suffering. It is the wondering whether or not the little thing is hurt and maybe hasn't even been checked out that is so awful. Even as cautious as we all try to be, our dogs can do things we just didn't account for and get hurt. But posting a scary story with no follow-up just leaves such worry and wondering among all us Yorkie-lovers.

				   | Very sad. I would very much like to know the outcome of this situation.... Especially if this is a real event...

				   | The OP posted on another thread last evening, asking about the vaccines scheduled for today....no mention about the fall. I asked for an update on the pup..... |

				   | Oh, I hope the vet was told about the fall and the pup examined and tested in that light. Were the tests that were done such as x-rays and neuro with the history of a high fall mentioned? I haven't read that thread yet but if one doesn't give a good history of recent trauma to the vet, he is just doing a well-puppy exam which is far different and he could miss or fail to interpret something not quite right. Sure hope this baby had a miracle and escaped serious injury! Even if he's not badly injured, he must be so very tender and sore - hope she asked the vet for something for that.
