PLEASE Pray for Mickey -at ER vet in surgery Please pray for Mickey. He is in Emergency Surgery at the ER Vet. Mickey got a piece of bully stick logged in his esophagus. He was eating his bully stick about 10 pm when he let out a few yelps. He then started panting and shivering. He wanted to be on my lap. I knew something was wrong. We left for the ER vet within 15 min. It is a 20 min drive. The vet almost let us leave but we wanted to get the x-ray to be sure everything was alright because I knew he was not acting normally. The x-ray showed a swollen part of his esophagus before his stomach. They are operating on him now and he should be out by 3am IF things go ok. The vet listed so many things that could go wrong my head is spinning. I can't stop crying. I can't stop....... My heart is breaking I feel like the most horrible mom. :( I should not have given him the bully stick! Can't type anymore I am so upset |
It is not your fault. Accident happen. You were there when it happened and took him to the vet right away. You did everything right. Try to stop blaming yourself. He will be out of surgery in no time. Best wishes to you both. |
Sending prayers for Mickey. I am so sorry you are going through this. You did a very good thing bringing him to the ER vet. {{{hugs}}} Please update us when you can. |
Prayers for Mickey. I'm so sorry he and you are going through this. I hope that the surgery goes well for him and that he is home soon. |
Oh No, I'll be praying for your little Mickey. |
Prayers for Mickey. |
Thank you all SO MUCH for all your thoughts and prayers.:) The vet called and surgery went very well. No irritation or punctures or anything. It was a fairly simple (but very expensive) endoscopic procedure. They had to call the vet in who does those. He swallowed about 6 inches of bully stick. No more bully sticks here! Mickey can come home tomorrow morning at 8 am. :) |
I am so relieved surgery went well and that Mickey is going to come home to you first thing in the morning. :) I can go to bed now. 6 inches of bully?!?! Tell Mickey not to scare his mommy like that again. Sending gentle hugs to your little guy. |
omg 6 inches of bully stick how scary is that, so glad he is ok!!!!now i'm scared to give meesha any treats like that, so scary how quickly things like that can happen, sometimes these cute little yorkies can be so bad, its not u'r fault, wonder what he was thinking trying to eat all that, poor lil guy! |
Just now seeing this... OMGosh... PTL he is okay! Sending Prayers up for both of you... |
OMGOSh, thank God your little one is ok. I know how you feel...and I am so glad he will come home tomorrow. Give him lots of hugs and kisses... :D I know the vet bill must be expensive, but it is sooo worth it! |
Oh my goodness about the bully stick. So glad he is okay. |
We do everything we can POSSIBLY do to keep thiese little buggers safe....dont beat yourself up over this....I had a puppy strangle on a tiny piece of kibble one time.....and I was RIGHT THERE, supervising the litter eat....he just inhaled instead of swallowed.....You were right there and got him the attention he needed....good mommie! I always take the bully stick away when it gets down to about 3 inches...this is only one of just three things I let my babies chew on, under supervision.....I keep trimming the soft chewed part off as they work on it.....this is so scary.....makes you wonder how dogs ever survived "in the wild".....Sooooooooooo happy for you and your little Mickey! |
Oh Chrissie, Thank you, Lord for being with Mickey and his mommy. I pray he is fully back to his feisty little self by later on today. Hugs to you. You are a wonderful mommy! |
So happy to hear that Mickey's surgery went well. I am sending positive thoughts for a quick recovery. |
