UPDATE: Her 2nd 4 week F/U and the Neuro vets said Cali's neurological assessment was actually IMPROVED from her last visit!!! She has been getting excellent treatment but I know in my heart it is God working in her through everyone's prayers. I can't thank you enough! Thank you so much...wish I could give everyone here a big hug! As far as her meds: we are keeping her on Prednisolone every other day for a month and then continuing to wean. In another week we will begin weaning the Valium and see how she does. After it is all done, she should only be getting the Thyroid medication but I'm sure we'll take our time with the valium too. We are also going to continue her laser treatments and PT. I will be doing range of motion 3X/day as well. |
I am so glad things went so well at MSU today for Cali. You are right as long as they're happy it's great!!! Dessa is a very happy girl and has improved a good bit. We just wish we knew what caused all of this???. She has started vomiting every morning for the last 3 days. It's not a lot, but it's also not something she normally does. She's going to the vet on Tuesday. We called them today and they told us a few things to do. Hopefully she won't do it in the morning??? As always, I am keeping Cali in my thoughts and prayers!!!! |
I am so glad she continues to improve. Go Miss Cali. Dessa, keeping you in my prayers too. |

Thank you so much! It's funny that when I talk to Cali, she just looks at me with her big brown eyes like she understands all that we have done for her. And in her gaze is a certainty....and she knows that we will do anything for her. I think it makes her content with her condition and happy to be a puppy in our family. She gives me strength as much as I give her care! |
1 Attachment(s) UPDATE: Cali is still doing well. She has days that she gets stiff but she bounces back. Today at therapy was her first "water aerobics" session. I forgot to take a picture DURING but took one after (posted below). Thursday I'll get one of her in action. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin to wean Valium on Wednesday.
