I want to get off surgery express train Gilmore had his second luxating patella surgery Thursday. He had his other one when he was 9 months last Thanksgiving. When all is done he will have been crated for a total of 6 months over the course of a year and a half. Skittles my Yorkiepoo became paralyzed out of the blue and had spine surgery in July. The recovery has been tough. He has great days and some not so great days. I figured for sure I could rest easy. Not !! Last Tuesday I noticed Gilmore hopping. I knew right away what it was and was just sick inside. By the next day he was crying when it happened so I wasn't going to waste any time. He had his surgery Thursday and came home on Saturday. He is at least now on his road to recovery. I am not looking foward to another 3 months of confinement !!!!! Reading all my prior posts from his previous surgery and Skittles surgery is comforting to me. Having this awesome soft collar from HotRod's mom is a lifesaver. Knowing I did it before makes it a little easier. But it still sucks !!!!!!! Hope I can say sucks. |
sorry stay strong and as positive as possible. hugs. |
I'm so sorry this is all hitting you so hard and fast! With your past experience with LP and surgeries, it will make it somewhat easier for you. I can't imagine having to ever go through crating and rehabilitation. Let us know how they are doing. |
