| Tanner has hepatitis Took our little guy - Tanner - into the vet yesterday after noticing a pattern of vomiting roughly every 3 days, as well as increased drinking and urination. Other than that he has been just his happy, playful, sweet self. Physically he checked out fine (other than some nausea from the car ride there), but his blood work indicated his liver is showing some signs of damage. We left with a diagnosis of non-infectious hepatitis, liver support meds, and a cocktail of antibiotics. If the vomiting continues we'll go back in ASAP. Otherwise, we'll go back in 2 weeks to rerun blood work to check for improvement in his liver enzymes and discuss how to proceed with further treatment/care. Does anyone have experience with this? |

| He is 2 years old and came to us out of an abusive situation about a year and a half ago. He was advertised on Craigslist and when I saw his condition I knew there was no way I was letting him stay where he was. He was underweight and had intestinal parasites in addition to a good bit of emotional trauma. He is still very wary of men and other dogs. They had been feeding 5 dogs from one dish and an amount meant for 1-2 dogs so it took us some time to establish normal feeding with him. |
