I will pray for your pup for a good outcome. She sounds like a sweetie. Welcome to yorkietalk, it is nice to have you here. |
While it may be serious, it still may be something treatable. Try to remain positive! Prayers for Mia. |
I agree with you. You were not scammed. However, hindsight here will be 20/20 as well. I sincerely think the people who you got your puppy from are honest, and nice. But they didn't know what they were doing when they bred their dogs. Did they study their lines? How far back? Where their dogs genetically tested for any diseases? Where their ancestors? If your dog does have a heart condition, it could be genetic. A nice home and good intentions can't guarantee a healthy dog alone. I think at this point all you can do is be honest with the breeders and let them know what is going on. Share copies of the vet's test results with them. Look over your contract and see if they will be assisting you with vet costs. I hope the little one gets better and it's nothing serious. |

I too offer up my prayers for you and those pups. PDA can be operated on, not cheap of course, and the pups will bear all the risks inherent in any surgery. It sounds like your vet is going above and beyond, and I was happy to hear they have already arranged for a consult. I know you will let these "breeders" know what is going on with the pups. I would wait until after the specialist consult. I also would be pretty blunt about the lack of professionalism of "their vet" who missed an obvious murmur, in not one but two pups! Prayers for you and Mia, and the other little pup |
I can't add much to the advice given. But I wanted to say I'm SO glad you de-lurked and are getting some support for you and your new baby. Hang in there; I'll keep you both in my thoughts. |

Thank you all for your replies and warm wishes, they mean so much to me and have really been a source of comfort. I am sitting here waiting for the vets to call.I can't wait and yet I dread it..:confused:This is incredibly hard. Last night I went searching for additional info on the former owners and found their facebook (I'm not on facebook) but anywho I found it and It reassured me of what I already knew..they had no clue, they had dozens of pics of themselves with the litter of pups at various stages throughout their 10 weeks, it was obvious they fell in love with them. These pics were in no way meant for selling purposes. They talked about how much they miss them etc....so sad, I'm going to hate to inform them. I did not hear from anyone who had a pup/dog with both a murmur and arythmia..so I'm still perplexed at what that means. I'm asking everyone to keep Ms. Mia and Bella in their thoughts and prayers today as we await their fate...Thank you |
At least you will now have an answer. It was not something anyone online really could give you. Each case is different. I hope that whatever is going on with your little Mia, it is something that can easily be managed. Thinking positive thoughts...... |
