| Anemic or something else? My Misty is 7 monts old now. At 4 months she had an episode where her head was bobbling and she could barely walk. By the time we got her to the vet that same day the episode had passed (after about 2-3 hrs). The vet said it may have been low blood sugar so we bought Kyro syrup in case it happened again. Here she is at 7 months and no episodes until the weekend. Same exact symptoms, took her to vet ER and they did blood work. Came back she was anemic. She had been on a regular diet of boiled chicken breast for breakfast and dinner with white rice, and a high quality kibble during the day while we are at work. We also give her cooked egg on occasion. So now we give her boiled stew meat, cooked sweet potatoes, peas, raw carrots, and the broth from the cooked meats to her daily diet. She loves it all. But I'm skeptical that she is anemic since the episodes were so far apart. They wanted to also do xrays but we opted out at this point. Has anyone else seen these symptoms with their yorkie? ALSO...when she got spayed they noticed she has a hear murmur. |

| Was this your regular vet that you saw? Maybe Misty has some kind of disc problem? I would get the x ray done to see what's going on. Did the vet recommend anything for the anemia? I hope Misty is feeling better. |

| I would be getting further testing asap- there are major issues that can cause these symptoms, things like liver shunt or neurological problems.

| Where did you get the diet for your puppy? I would recommend doing a consult with a vet nutritionist if you wish to home cook. As for her health issues, perhaps it is time to see a Board Certified Internist?
