Yesterday was the first day with no vomiting. Sat and Sun he got sick only one time each day and it was very small. I am hoping this means he is on the mend. Today is his last day of the anti-vomiting medicaine, so we'll see what happens over the next few days. His blood work came back fine, so the vet feels it is something he ate (two times) back to back. We keep him in our 4 season room since he is potty training during the day. When I got home last night, he had gotten the spleen of the patio screen door. I found 4 pieces by the door and one by his dish. Here I thought we had taken everything out of the room he could possibly get into. I am re-searching the xpens and ordering one today! Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions. |
Well it sounds like your Brutus is quite the character! Best wishes. |
hope brutus is feeling better :) |
The vomiting has pretty much stopped, he is still on his special diet, but we have started to add kibble to the wet food and he is tolerating it just fine. since he is doing so much better, we'll be going back to puppy class tomorrow night. He is also scheduled to get his 3rd sets of shots on Tues. It's so scary when they get sick and you have no idea whats wrong.... |
Awwwwwwww........... glad to hear he is feeling better!!!! :) |
If he vomits, let his digestive system rest. Don't give him too much water either as it irritates his digestive system. He needs to go thru 6 hours not vomiting and then give him slowly small amounts of liquid. If he doesn't throw up, perfect, if he does, back to 6 hours again. After he is capable of taking liquids in, start slowly with the food. First, to keep him hydrated, make a weak solution of bouillon or chamomile and give it to it lukewarm. That will wake up the appetite and keep him hydrated as well. Then slowly you can try boil rice (no oil, no fats) and give him small portions of it. If he digests that, perfect. You could add boiled chicken to it, or slowly go back to normal food. Hope this helps. |
