My heart goes out to you. I pray Hershey will continue to get better so he can come home and get lots of hugs. |
So sorry ... ! |
We will continue to pray for his complete recovery. Sounds like that little guy is a fighter. Just hang in there. |
Continued thoughts and prayers to your little man! :) |
Thanks for the update, glad it was one that he was improving. Continue our prayers for a speedy recovery. |
Still thinking of you and Hershey |
Thank you once again for your thoughts and prayers. My husband and I picked Hershey up from the hospital last night. They wanted him to stay another night but we really thought he should be home with us since he was off of the oxygen. He had a really good night. He slept peacefully and his pulse rate was ok--we kept checking every few hours. He still doesn't look healthy but he is on the right track looking a lot better. The only problem is that he is refusing to eat. This worries me bc he hasn't eaten since Sunday or Monday. How can I get him to eat? Is there a certain type of food? He is drinking water though and we got him to take his pills in a treat this morning. |
I am glad he is at home and I hope he feels better soon. Sometime when Buster is reluctant to eat I sprinkle one of his favorite treats over his food to get him to be interested in his kibble. |
If you feel that it is safe ,you can sprinkle a very tiny bit of parmessian cheese on his food. Just so it smells different. My husband refers to it as "puppy crack". If he is on a strick diet this may not work. Boiled chic is another idea,in small amounts. I have asthma and I know when it is tuff for me to breath food just doesn't look good or taste right. Soft foods just seem to be easier to handle. Hope he improves some every day. |
Another thing that works is baby food. I buy chicken baby food. They usually will eat that. |
Hill's A/D is very palatable. When Nya would not eat after her surgery I tried this and it was the only thing she would take. I had to hand feed it to her for the first while. Another good thing about it is you can mix in baby food, the meat only kind with it and syringe it in if need be. He needs to eat and if it means syringing him I would force feed him.... |
 This was what the vet recomended when mine didn't want to eat |
have you tried boiloed chicken and rice, very bland or low fat cottage cheese, watch the baby food to make sure their is no onion powder in it, Im glad he is home with you |
Chester loves the addiction wet food, good stuff wet food is high in moisture as well |
