Basil broke his otherfront leg, same spot as the other one.
 

We left for a Jazz Cruise from Seattle to Alaska stopping in Juneau, Skagsway, Tracy Arm Fjord, and Victoria BC.

On Monday when in Skagsway, we get a phone call from our Vet and Dog sitter that Basil broke his other front leg. From the regualr Vet, he was rushed to the Ortho Surgeon to have the surgery and plate and tiny screws, and should heal 100% in a few months. Now we have to keep him quiet...will be hard. We were on the Train riding up into the Mountains and Marge lost her cell connection and was not in a good mood. If there was a way to get home early, we would have, but we were in the middle of no where. When we got the cell connection hours later, Marge talked to the Surgeon. Basil spent the night at the Hospital, and we just got home an hour ago and he is great....same splint, different leg. Here we hire a lady to live at our home 24/7 and it still happens. We think it happened as the brothers were rough housing. We felt so bad for her as she felt terrible, Well, Basil will eventually have 2 bionic legs..... Outsdie of that, the Cruise was great!

Tomorrow I pick up Carlo. The old guy is doing great, as are Maxine and Caper. There is no place like home!

Oh no...Steve I'm so sorry little Basil has to go through this again. Poor little guy, first one then the other and now confnement you him all over again. Kisses to the little fella. I know how much it will break you hearts to restrain him again. The positive is, you and Marge certainly know what you are doing! He's a lucky little guy to have you both!

With 2 broken legs and surgeries, I think Basil is ready to pack his bags and find a new family. Thank you for the kind words. He has adapted to the splint, and in another week will get the stitches out.

Oh how horrible, what are the chances of that anyway? Is he in the habit of jumping from high places? I can't imagine it happening from just the boys playing. I'm glad she took him to the vet, I imagine she feels horrible. Speaking of bionic legs, he really will be the 6 million dollar dog! Sending prayers your way for better luck!
