Ohh no!!! Im so sorry ! Our little guys seem to be so accident prone. Tibbs is back to trying to jump off things again :( I scold him and tell him "You don't want to brake your other leg" I have my fingers crossed for you guys hope it is a speedy recovery! |
Sorry to hear this happened, he is probaly wondering why this couldn't happen to his brother. Glad is on his way to complete recovery with a great set of legs. Happy to here you and Marge enjoyed your vacation.I know the kids are glad you are home. |
:2omg: I could not believe the thread title when I read it!!! That poor little guy - he's been through a lot for such a young one! My goodness, I'll bet you guys are just miserable thinking of your baby going through this without you and finding out the way you did where you couldn't even get good info for a while must have been awful. Poor Basil and poor you guys!!! I sure hope the rest of your year is far better than these last few months. I wish you a peaceful and totally uneventful autumn and winter! |
Oh Steve, I'm so sorry! What are the chances of this happening?! And how awful that you're both away when it happened! Your poor little guy! As it's been said before, these little guys are definitely jumpers... honestly a broken leg is one of my worst fears for them. Sending big hugs to Basil! |
Little basil is doing ok, but he sure does want to play with Caper. Here is the train we were on when we got the news about his leg. Scenery was beautiful. Not sure now if I can get Marge to go on any more away from home vacations. |
Poor little Basil!!! Sending prayers for your family. |
Oh NO....Steve, I am just seeing this. I am SO sorry to hear this. :( Wishing little Basil a speedy recovery. You all have really been slammed this year....so, so sorry. :( |
OH MY GOSH STEVE, Just reading this, I am so sorry this has happened again. Give that boy Hugs and Kisses from me...... |
Oh no! Just seeing this... poor Basil.... did the vet say if he thought anything genetic might be going on? Like some kind of hereditary bone weakness or something? This is just odd to me... do they really play that rough? Is his bloodwork okay? Protein and calcium, etc.? Hope you were still able to enjoy the trip... it must be beautiful there! |
Been wondering the same thing myself. I would be speaking with my vet about testing and possible supplements. |
I'm sorry Steve. Hoping he has a speedy recovery. Love his name, by the way. I've also been wondering the same thing. It could just be a coincidence, but I think there is probably an underlying issue here. To try and prevent another incident, I'd be talking to the vet about any possible preventative measures that could be taken. He is just so young, and for this to have happened twice is very odd. |
No, not problem with bones, he has just been unlucky. After my brother in Law dropped him, we were real careful with him. There is no doubt they were playing rough and jumping while we were not here. (In Hindsite we should have boarded the brothers )He has tiny long bones between the ankle and elbow. The Surgeon said bones are normal, and now they are bionic! |
Just seeing this now. Poor little Basil! You and Marge are now officially banned from ever leaving them with anyone else again. |
So sorry to hear about poor Basil! Hope he is feeling better soon and that you all get through the confinement phase OK. |
Just catching up on some reading on YT and saw your post. Sending prayers your way and hoping Basil has a full recovery. You and your wife sure have been through alot and hopefully all goes well for you. Susan |
