Summer and her new life!!
 

I thought I should post here since so many of the people who saved Summer are in this thread and will see this update.

Summer is doing very well in her new home. As you all may recall, I wanted Summer to have a fur brother to play with because she so loved playing with my Armani. She was a bit rough on my girls. Took some time, but SO worth it!!! I received an email yesterday that warmed my heart and I asked her new mom if I could share it.....so here it is:

Summer and Yogi are playing really well together. The other day they were in my bedroom and they started batting at each other playfully. Then Yogi took off into the living room and came back with a toy and they started playing tug of war! I was so cute. I am glad Yogi has such an awesome play buddy. Takes some of the weight off me! Everybody that meets Summer just falls in love with her. She has such a Zen energy about her.

Omg! This is so WONDERFUL!! Summer has had a special place in my heart as I watched her story. Bless you Linda for finding this baby, getting her well, and finding her a furever home! I have tears just looking at how she s fitting in with her new family!

Summer's story is the perfect example of what I look for when I place a pup. The most important thing to me in finding a home is finding one that is the right fit for the pup....you really have to take your time and evaluate a pup before trying to place him/her. Summer did so well with my male pups, but not so well with the females. So, I decided that she needed a home with a little brother to play with. It sometimes takes longer to place a pup this way, but in the end it is well worth it for everyone....most especially the pup. They don't need any more failures in their lives and, if we take our time, more often than not it will work out. If I had placed her in a home with female pups, it may not have worked out at all...and I know for a fact that Summer would not have been as happy as she is now.

She had one great application from a YTer but there was an alpha female in that home and it would not have worked for Summer since she was also alpha. The YTer totally understood that and actually withdrew her application when she read about Summer's issue with females.

This is why some people who are really great sometimes get turned down by rescue...if a rescue does what fits the pup, sometimes a great applicant wont be the right fit for the pup that caught their eye. We usually work with them to find another if that is what they want.

I just love looking at the wonderful difference in Summer from page 1 of this thread to page 59. Please help and Support Yorkie Haven Rescue.

Oh poor Summer:( What an ordeal she looks to have been through, and going through!! Good thing she is now in good and capable hands!! What a sweet looking girl. Who in their right mind would not immediately do anything about it. I guess I just answered my own question. Having said that, perhaps there is a logical explanation... I sure hope so. We will never know I guess. I sure hope she heals well and gets a warm and cozy home to grow up in. Lord knows she already been through enough already. Cheers!

I am so glad you placed her in a loving home. Summer deserves it!!

She has a wonderful life now, hard to believe that it has been just a little over two years. Please check pages 42/43/50/51/54/and 59 for wonderful photos of Summer as she healed. It really is inspiring and this is only one of the many dogs YHR has helped. Wow what an amazing story, it took me all afternoon to read this(yes I'm a slow reader lol) unbelievable what she went thro and pulled thro it all for all the size of her. How amazin the yters was, and most of all our ladyjane,,,,, ur an amazing women and I wish the world had more of you in it xxxxxxxx
