Maxine, thought we lost her tonight
 
Marge and I were just about to head out for dinner, when Maxine just keeled over, shook, and started peeing. Marge picked her up and her tongue was turning purple, and she seemed like a rag doll. I thought she had died. She then vomited and pooped on Marge, but seemed to come back to life. We made record time to the Vet. Fortunately our vet was still there. They were waiting for us, and took her in the back and started IV fluids, blood work, etc.

As of now, the Vet believes she suffered a stroke, or has a possible Brain Tumor. They are keeping her overnight for observation, and will keep her hydrated. Hopefully, she will be coming home tomorrow as she perked up after the IV, and is not as lethargic. We are back home, but Marge is going to drive her bed to the Animal Hospital. We left her blanket there with her for comfort. Maxine is over 14, but you never expect it. It just happened so fast. If we had left just one minute earlier, we most likely would have found her on the floor. Been a hell of a night. We were going to the Arlington Million tomorrow, but will stay home instead and keep an eye on her when she comes home.

I'm so sorry to hear about Maxine. I will be praying for her & hope she has a full, quick recovery. I'll be sending good thoughts to you and your wife as well.

Hope they can help her & get her to where she will still have alot of time left with you. It is so hard to see them getting old & start failing' Sending prayers...

Sending prayers for Maxine. I'm so glad that you were still home when this happened so that you were able to rush her to the doctor.

Oh No I'm so sorry to hear that Maxine is not feeling well.
Many prayers going out for your precious girl.

I do know my late TeeTee he suffered a stroke and that was how he acted when it happened. His was really bad.

Please keep us update on Maxine.

Oh, Steve, that makes me so sad. I'll keep Maxine, you and Marge in my prayers. I know it's something that you know you will have to face one day and then when it does happen, you find you aren't prepared at all. I hope she'll surprise you and will improve.

So sorry about little Maxine. I hope she gets to come home and spend more time with you. Even at 14yrs. it is never enough time. I know we are facing it with Tina. She was 14 in May. Its so hard to see them sick, but, we are going to be positive and pray that baby girl gets to come home for alot more time with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Maxine is a precious little doll, and she is also a little fighter. I am counting on her getting better and coming home to you and Marge. She has so much to live for. I'm so glad that you were able to rush her to the doctor to get her well.

Prayers for Maxine and the family. This had to be devastating but thankfully you could get her to the vet. Hugs to all especially Maxine.

I will be praying for Maxine. Steve, I don't know if you remember, but my son's yorkie had a stroke a couple of months ago and he is now doing fine. If it is a stroke, they recover quickly...pretty amazing stuff. A stroke in a dog is not like one in a human. I hope that is all this is and that Marge will be fine in no time! :)
