Good to hear he is on Ringer's. Hoping breeders who have some other ideas for you see this. Keep fighting for him!! Will keep you and little one in our prayers! (and dear husband who is staying up and helping too!)

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I would seek a second opinion from a different vet. With him not drinking on his own you have to be concerned with dehydration. I really think my vet would have kept and given fluids. At that age you don't want to take chances.

Try beechnut baby food - chicken w/ broth flavor. My girl was the same way at 8wks. I gave her nutra-cal and when she got bored of that she was given honey. i literally forced the honey on her tongue and rubbed it on her gums every 2 hrs. I also forced water with a syringe. The vet told me to grind the kibbles and caesers and also feed with syringe. It gets messy but i did what i had to. Good luck to you and I pray he becomes the toughest of the litter!

And i definitely agree with the others...if all else fails please get him iv fluids.

Thanks Monika. And Thanks to all who have posted here. It means a lot to me. I just gave him some KYRO Syrup and it gave him a little boost. His little tiny mouth is so hard to get open. I try to pry it open gently, but sometimes he clamps it down so hard it makes it impossible to open without hurting him. He doesn't even have aname yet, so I can't put him on prayer lists!! We call him "Bug" tho. He's about the same size as a empty toilet paper roll.

It doesn't matter if he has a name God knows what puppy he is, So your baby Bug will be in my prayers. Hugs to you.

Well, we made it thru another night. I don't know that he is doing a whole lot better, but he is up and walking around. Last night was hubby's turn to care for him. At 2:30 this morning, he didn't want to wake up to take his liver stuff (for lack of a better word! LOL), but hubby got him to take some, and some Nutra-Cal. I got up at 5:00 and sent hubby to bed. We will wait and see how today goes. I'll post more after I get home from work. Thanks!!

i think maybe everybody misunderstood, or maybe i didn't word it right, but the vet couldn't find his veins cuz he's so little. With him being so small, it's rough!!

Thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts!! He's gonna need them!!

Is there someone to feed him during the day? Also, I imagine you need to keep him warm with no drafts on him, as keeping warm can use a lot of calories. Anyway, bet of luck, we're all rooting for you.
