I am so sorry to hear that Pixie is not improving. Please do not feel guilty for trying to save her.....you are doing what any person who loved their pet would do. We never know for sure when a pup is that ill if we will be able to save them; but we sure as heck will not if we don't try. You are providing the best for your precious Pixie. If/when the time comes that she is not going to improve, you will know. You are a wonderful mom for giving her the best. I will keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers. |
My heart is just breaking for you and your baby! Like you I just dont understand how quickly a littleone can become so ill so quickly. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. |

I am so sorry. I know with Dixie I tried everything but in the end she let me know she had had enough. Just know you are doing everything possible. I don't know if they explained that when they are in kidney failure they are very nauseous and do not feel like eating. I am praying for Pixie. |
Pixie Update 7-2-2011 The Dr called this am to let me know how she did overnight. She said that Pixie rested last night, and did not spit up any of her food they were feeding her through that tube. She also said that she did not want to sound optmistic or get my hopes up, but she believes Pixie may feel a little better this am because she seems to be holding her head up more and walking around a little more than yesterday. They are going to increase the food volume a little today and see how she tolerates it. Pixie has several doctors working on her case. There is three kidney specialists who are consulting on her. The Internal Medicine Specialist is consulting on her. They are also trying to rule out a possible liver shunt also. The doctor who I communicate with daily is Dr. Delk. Everyone has been wonderful so far. I Want to Thank Everyone who is thinking of Pixie and praying for her to recover. Please continue to remember her in your prayers. |
I am glad to hear that Pixie has shown some improvement. I know with Dixie she only continued to get worse is spite of treatment. So that sounds hopeful. Keeping the prayers going. |

Pixie Update 7-3-2011 This morning the Dr called and said that Pixie's Red Blood Cell Count was really low and her blood pressure and heart rate was really high. They wanted to do a blood transfusion. They told me that this would be her best chance for improvement at this point. I agreed. We went and visited with her tonight. The Dr said that her kidney levels had came down alot. Her Bun was 186, Cre was 2.2 Phos was 7 this morning. After the transfusion her heart rate and blood pressure was back to normal. She has four tubes running to her neck and a feeding tube through her little nose. She doesnt like to get up, but her eyes were more alert tonight than the were Friday night. She would follow us with her eyes,and would raise up when she heard anything. They are feeding her a liquid diet through the feeding tube and still giving alot of fluids. She is still very critical and it is touch and go, but when I looked at her she had Pixie spunk in her eyes. I want to say Thank You to everyone who is thinking and praying for Pixie! Please continue to keep her in your Prayers!! |

Goodbye Pixie Pocket Mommy Loves You The Dr called about an hour ago and said she was called in because Pixie was having trouble breathing. They were going to take radiographs of her lungs to see what was going on, but she passed away before they could. She fought a good fight, but her little body had taken all she could stand. Thank you all for all the prayers for her. |

I am heartbroken hearing about the loss your precious baby. Both you and Pixie fought so hard to try to get her better. I know that losing your baby is devastating, but I hope that you can rest easier knowing you gave her such love and care. Please accept my deepest condolences. :rose: |
